here are the two elected officials who have been in charge of regulating and enforcing compliance in the banking business:
Chris Dodd (D) - Chairman of Senate Committe http://banking.senate.gov/public/
Barney Frank (D) - Chariman of House Committe with Oversight http://www.house.gov/frank/
maybe these two guys whould do their job and stop taking campaign contributions (payoffs / bribes) from Fanny / Freddie funds at the tax payers expense?

its called a market cycle...when prices go DOWN there are BUYING OPPORUNITIES for the WISE and LOSSES for the LOSERS.
amazing that when bozo's buy houses and they can't afford their mortgage once the buy RIMS, SUVs, DIGITAL CABLE, BLACKBERRYs and CEL PHONE PAYMENTS it is ALL BUSHs FAULT.
and when rich investor types make bad financial moves andf they go bell up it is BUSHs FAULT AGAIN!
who PAID for your bad decisions before Bush came along to be blamed? YO MOMMA?
|
Alan Greenspan disagrees with you about the current credit problem being part of a normal market cycle.

I don't know, it seems like it might be on an eight year cycle. It took eight years for the Dems to balance the budget and get everything running half decent after the last Republican regime.... Running good enough for the GOP to sneak in the back door and rob us all blind again in another eight...lol.

Alan Greenspan is a human raisin and is reposbile for the mortgage problem...he held the interest rates low, encourage sub prime lending to folks who suddenly met the qulaification for a first time mortgage who could not even pay their credit cards on time! proff that Greenspan is a moron - he married Andrea Mitchell from PMS-NBC!
the 1990s balanced budget originated in the Republican Controlled House by Representative John Kasich and the Senate by Pete Domenici - all the while Clinton kept sayig it would take Nine Year...then lowered his BS line to 8 Years...and so onto until he was dragged kicking and screaming to accept that the republican plans was in fact achievable. Matter of fact - he never actually achieve a balanced budget but a PROJECTED BALANCED BUDGET after 2.5 yeear of the usual Clinto Rope a Dope HORSE SHIT!
Obama is a useful idiot...and for 1 reason alone if you ignore his other CRAP...Obama did away with the Clinton sjust in time to cost him the general election.
nice try at revision tho...most democrats do not understand the structure of gov't and the actual roles in budget approval...but as long as they FEEL GOOD about who they blame the liberal world remains in the dark - feeding on bullshit - and looking dumbfounded when confronted with the depth of reality.
any waty you look at it - the liberal press has been trumpeting this year as a SLAM DUNK for Democrats in general but here we are 50 days out and PANIC has set in as the new mangod messiah of liberalism can not MUSTER a LEAD in BATTLE GROUND STATES as McCain takes a commanding lead in the electoral polls...and moved betond the 270 watermark for the first time!

BRR, you're going to have a pretty tough sell blaming a $5 trillion deficit increase on the Democrats... which includes $2.5 trillion in tax cuts for the upper 5% and at least another trillion searching for bin Laden in Iraq. McCain offers more of the same. Borrow and spend.
CNN has Obama ahead 233 to 189. Not bad for a black guy with a Muslim name. If he were white, the race would already be over. Sorry about your luck. Your guys will have to wait a couple of more terms before things are running smooth enough to swift boat your way in again on non-issues...lol. It's going to take a while to clean up the mess this time.

...AND THEN IT GOES UP 400
http://www.electoral-vote.com/
last time I checked Obama is not running for President of CNN...
the poll cited above has been closer to actual election night results in several election cycles...CNN is nowhere near that.

Why DID it go up?
Am I the ONLY one who knows???
Since Uncle Sam figured it was in the US Tax Payer's interest to pay BILLIONS of dollars to WRITE OFF the bad debt from financial institutions with OUR TAX DOLLARS, who were out of control, the richest Americans came out with their checkbooks open to make even more money.

This whole thing reminds me of a similar situation in 1989 that Charles Keating and Mr. McCain was involved in.

well well well...the cracks are oozing with discontent and the temperature inside Camp Obama is on the rise..as HEAVY CONSTERNATION SETS IN.
left wing bloggers are doubting Obama's judgement as he struggles to sure up his base long after that should have been sealed at the convention!
translation - BIDEN was ROTTEN EGG PICK from day one and Obama was forced to pick him by his spiteful angry wife who held a grudge from the venomous primary exchanges.

Should Obama Replace Biden?By Jack Kelly
In what now seems the long ago days between the time Sen. John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate and her acceptance speech, there was considerable speculation in the news media that Sen. McCain would drop her from the ticket.
This was entirely a media invention. There was no sentiment among Republicans for replacing Ms. Palin, and Sen. McCain -- whose loyalty to his friends nearly cost him his life in Vietnam -- is not the kind of person who would desert his choice.
And there was a very practical reason why this option never was considered. Sen. George McGovern was going to lose in 1972 no matter what, but the final nail in his coffin was when he dumped running mate Thomas Eagleton after it was revealed Sen. Eagleton had had shock treatments for an unspecified mental illness. With one stroke, Sen. McGovern called into question both his judgment and his loyalty.
There has, of course, been no further speculation about dropping Sarah Palin from the ticket after her boffo performance in St. Paul. But my friend Steve Maloney (who first got me interested in Sarah Palin) says his sources in the Democratic Party are telling him Barack Obama is being pressured to dump Sen. Joseph Biden from the ticket and replace him with Hillary Clinton, the switch to come just after the vice presidential debate Oct. 2. Speculation about such a switch has emerged on several left-wing blogs.
"It's time to dump Biden and replace him with Sen. Hillary Clinton," said Andy Ostroy on the Huffington Post Monday. "I'm starting to think that if Team Obama doesn't do something dramatic fast, it's gonna lose this election."
What might prompt such an act of desperation? The polls -- which indicate the race is a statistical dead heat -- are cause for concern, but not for panic.
This might be the reason:
"Party elders also believe the Obama camp is in denial about warnings from Democratic pollsters that his true standing is four to six points lower than that in published polls because of hidden racism from voters," wrote Tim Shipman in the London Telegraph Sunday.
"While the polling is close I believe it is far worse than the numbers reflect given social apprehension of middle of the road uncommitted respondents to appear racist by not supporting Obama," wrote former Democratic congressional candidate Paul Hackett on the Daily Kos blog. "Thus instead of being down in Ohio by 3 or 4 points I would argue that for planning purposes the working assumption should indicate that Obama is down in Ohio by roughly 10 points."
If this is true (and I don't think that it is), then Sen. Obama is in very deep kimche. There are 12 states in which this election will be decided. Seven -- Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada -- were carried by President Bush in 2004. Five -- Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and New Hampshire -- were carried by Sen. John Kerry.
To win, a candidate must amass 270 electoral votes. President Bush won 286 in 2004, so, Sen. McCain has 16 to play with. He could lose Iowa (7) and either Colorado (9), New Mexico (5) or Nevada (5) and still win the election.
As a practical matter, Sen. McCain can't win unless he carries both Florida (27) and Ohio (20), but he's already leading in both states, and if Mr. Hackett is right, then they're already out of Sen. Obama's reach.
Also as a practical matter, Sen. Obama can't win if he loses either Pennsylvania (21) or Michigan (17). The public polls indicate both states are tossups, but if Sen. McCain has a hidden 4-6 percentage point advantage, then he has the lead in both. New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington state and New Hampshire might also switch from blue to red, while the only red state in which Sen. McCain would be behind is Iowa.
State by state polls should be taken with a grain of salt. A recent poll indicated a 20 percentage point lead for Sen. McCain in North Carolina, and a statistical tie in Virginia.
North Carolina was, on average, three percentage points more Republican than Virginia in the last two presidential elections. It's inconceivable nearly 20 percentage points could be separating them now. The massive turnout at a McCain-Palin rally in one of the bluest counties in Virginia a week ago suggests the North Carolina poll may be the more accurate.
Could a "Hail Hillary" pass change the grim arithmetic facing Sen. Obama? We may find out.

Fannie Mae linked to Obama and the Congressional Black Caucus... Obama - in just 4 years - rocketed past John Kerry (who has been in the Senate for a long time) to the No. 2 spot on the list of political contributions received from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac.
Democrat Jim Johnson, who was once CEO of Fannie Mae, raked in millions from Fannie Mae, and recently was on Obama's VP serach committee.
Obama did not sound any alarm about Fannie or Freddie. He was in their hip pocket getting political contributions from them. Fannie & Freddie had a huge budget devoted to giving political contributions to keep politicians (like Obama) and regulators off their backs.
Obama's buddies - Democrat Charles Rangel and Democrat Chris Dodd (who is in the No. 1 slot of contributions received from Fannie & Freddie) - both pushed for home loans to be given to people who could not afford them.
Now, American taxpayers are stuck with the bill.
Obama is trying his hardest to pin the blame on Bush, McCain and the Republicans, though.
These guys along with Barney Frank , Feckless Harry and miss plousley need to be flushed and flushed fast.. No matter how you try to spin it these trolls and people like them are in the tank big time and they just think that the majority is the little people are just to dumb to see it...
BTW I was just wondering how that little poll is going.. Oh ya the old white guy is winning....

Talk is cheap Barry, time to put up or get off the porch......He talk's a good game let's see the action>>>LOL!!!
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad put Barack Obama on the spot Thursday, offering to debate with both U.S. presidential candidates when he arrives at the United Nations next week for its annual summit.
The fiery Iranian leader, who provoked a storm of controversy when he visited last year, said he would debate global issues at a public forum in UN headquarters if the candidates agreed.
Obama said early in his campaign that, as president, he would be prepared to meet the leaders of U.S. foes such as Iran and Syria.

Barney Frank throws Greenspan under the bus, praises Bernanke
Barney Frank just threw Alan Greenspan under the bus. Frank essentially states that if only Alan Greenspan had taken the authority given to him back in 1994, and exercised it like Ben Bernanke did in 2006 we wouldn't have the mess we have today.
Yes, you read that right - Barney Frank said the Clinton Fed Chair Greenspan screwed up, and the Bush Fed Chair did things right.
In other news, snow is reported to be falling in Hell; Lucifer is perplexed!

Obviously you haven't looked at who has donated to McCain's campaign before posting that.
Merrill Lynch
Morgan Stanley
Goldman Sachs
JP Morgan & Chase
Credit Suisse Group
Lehman Brothers
ALL are McCain's TOP contributors. I can list MANY, MANY more if you'd like.

how many of those contributors siphoned the money off of poor first time homeowners who were facing foreclosure and homelessness?
maybe since Barak is only a part time Senator in terms of SHOWING UP and VOTING on the business at hand...this $126k may actually be legitimate PAYMENT for community organizing "on the side" for the fat cats at Fannie Mae - you know, the one's who gifted themselves bonuses and pay raises while people were losing their homes?
surely Barak will report this "income" and have a logical explaination as to how the working poor's mortgage payment ended up in his campaign coffers...

I've got time and I'll bet BRR does to..... Not tell me again why since the dims are in-charge of the house and senate and the dims have now admitted it's their fault we are in this mess ,they still can't , to use Bidens words, stand up, and take the blame... That bring up another Biden remark about not being patriotic unless we pay more taxes.. How does that work??? They want to take money from my business so they can give it to some of their special interest group...Not as long as I write the checks...

This is not meant to offend only inform. I'm not on the fence folks. Enough is enough! To be a Republican today you need to believe: 1. Jesus loves you and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton. 2. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's Daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a 'we-can't-find-Bin-Laden' diversion. 3. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony. 4. The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq
5. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational drug corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. 6. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay. 7. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex. 8. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies, then demand their cooperation and money. 9. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMO's and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart. 10. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. 11. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. 12. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. 13. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business. 14. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery. 15. Support for 'Executive Privilege' in perpetuity for every Republican ever born, who will be born, or who might be born. 16. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80's is irrelevant. 17. Support for hunters who shoot their friends and blame them for wearing orange vests similar to those worn by the quail. If you don't send this to at least 10 other people, we're likely to be stuck with more Republicans in '08. Friends don't let friends vote Republican!

Do you honestly think that Fannie and Freddie are the only ones who give out marginal home loans?
Those that I posted above are knee deep into it too.
