Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Tackle Quincy Raceways This Sunday!

(Bill W) The reconfigured 3/8 mile Quincy Raceways will play host to the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders for the third time in series' history this Sunday evening! Drivers will tackle the famed oval for a winner's share of $1,200! One of the tightest point battles in history for the popular series is approaching the homestretch! The driver atop the point standings has changed yet again, as John Schulz now leads "The Lil' Dude" Bobby Mincer by nine markers!

Schulz registered his third win of the year last Sunday night at the CJ Raceway in Columbus Junction, Iowa. The West Burlington, Iowa driver has also piloted the Deuce Motorsports #2 machine to wins at the 34 Raceway in his hometown and the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa this season. "The Professor" Josh Schneiderman moved past Matt Rogerson for third in the standings on the strength of a second place finish at CJ. Rogerson is just 29 points behind Schulz in the championship race. "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison rounds out the top five.

Korey Weyant is sixth in series points, and Matt Harms, Jimmy Davies, Nick Eastin and Jordan Goldesberry round out the top ten. Despite having to scratch before last Sunday's feature, 15 year old Austin McCarl still leads the Rookie of the Year race, 193 points ahead of "The Flyin' Farmer" Andy Huston.

Previous Quincy Sprint Invaders winners include Ricky Logan and Matt Sutton, who won in June of 2007. Sutton's win came in exciting fashion from row five, and he held off Rager Phillips, the late great Brian Hetrick, Rogerson and Chris Urish at last season's event.

Pit gates open at 3:00 and Grandstands open at 4:00. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:30 with racing to follow. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (65+), $7 for teens (11-15), and kids 10 and under are free! There is also a family pass (2 adults, 2 teens) available for $35! Pit passes are $25.

Visit Quincy Raceways online at www.quincyraceways.com or call the Track Hotline at 217-224-3843 or the Track Office at 217-224-3843 for more information. Quincy Raceways is located at 8000 Broadway Street (Hwy 104) east of town.

Camfab Offers Bonus for the "Highest Finishing 305"

Camfab has offered to award a $25 Gift Certificate from Midland Performance to the "Highest Finishing 305" in each Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invader feature race.

The Sprint Invaders season opener at 34 Raceway saw 32 winged sprints take to the track in search of a qualifying spot for the A-Main. One of those cars was the #23 car piloted by young gun Kevin Hetrick. Hetrick not only qualified but was the highest finishing 305, making him the first recipient of Camfab's award. Thank you Chris McGraw and congrats to Kevin Hetrick.

I can't wait to see the new configuration. I heard it made for a lot more passing. Congrats to John and Josh for running one two at CJ raceway. The points battle is fierce with just 29 points separating the top four. And with three different 1/4 miles and two different 3/8 miles left to go it's anybodies guess who will be victorious. Hey how about some 305s at these 1/4 miles. I would double my 305 prize to fifty dollars worth of Midland performance product if any 305 can run in the top 10 at any of the three 1/4 miles left this year.

Tell me how much money you got and I'll tell you how
fast you can go!
