In the Daily Disappointment Lanny said that he was going to run all the same five classes plus the Ltmd mods next year. Those that visit Lawton he said that they are getting about 17 ltmd mods is that right?

yeah sport mods are great ---------- but what about the factories?????? this obviously a broken class.

they may be fun to watch to family and friends in the stands of the allens. but none of us are related ------- and the factory stocks suck! it aint good - because if people show lanny its ok to have such a sorry class that you are paying to see --------- then when they piss the sprint or mod guys - what excuse will be then? none ------ because we willl have already made ourseoves ok with small counts like the factory stocks. screw it ----- as long as there are always 2 sprint classes running - and as long as they dont give sprints off for a night and replace them with an absolute joke (the factory stocks).

fix the class, punt the class...................keep it but.........but...........but.............

i dont care. but in leaving them. if we get nights where we lose 25 sprints to them and their 7 ---------- funk that!!!!!!!!!

There were 10 limited mods the last time they raced in Lawton.

They are better than the factory stock class, but that's not saying much.

OKCFan12 is right as usual. He needs to eliminate the factory stock class at both tracks. The counts have been small all year.

Of course the payout would be less for Lanny if he lets the sprint cars or modifieds take off more weekends. Obviously in Lanny's world, that's the bottom line.

But you can bet your last hard-earned dollar it will be a limited modifed that will not be able to fit the rules of ANY track but OKC and or Lawton. Wouldn't want those drivers getting mad and being able to go somewhere else and run.

6 classes with 10-12 in 3 of those classes = EXHIBITION not COMPETITION.

That deal Sunday night with the pathetic Fac stock 9 car A feature was AWFUL.Paint drying has more action.

Glad KXY carried the Nascar race cause thats what I paid attention to.

Hell bring back the Late Models at least when theres 9 of them they get around the track faster & get off so we can get on with the sprint cars

I could care less about Sprint Cars, but most all of SFS that is all they like is Sprints, put a Damn Starter in them then I might be more interested, I agree they are fast, but they take to long to get started and running after they spin out and all, so i don't care about them and I know alot of you will be mad but it's my opinion and I do know alot of people who feel the same as I do about Sprints Smile

With respect to the sprint cars, please allow me to relate a true story, which I have posted here before ...

In the summer of 2007 I walked up to one of the mezzanine section concession stands at SFS only to find virtually no line. Surprised, I mentioned to the person working behind the counter that I expected more people in front of me.

Her response?

"Either the people aren't hungry or the sprint cars must be running."

"I'd pay $15 to watch a sprint car sit still."

I LOVE all dirt track racing - all classes. But the sprints - especially Super Sprints - are my favorite. The modifieds always put on a good show in OKC and are usually the best class is Lawton, but the excitment of Sprints can't be matched by any other class. So, hopefully Lanny won't give them too many nights off to keep all 6 classes - or we won't be making the trip to OKC as often next year.

Well that is very true at SFS and alot of places, I am in no way disrespecting you Sprint Car Drivers I just want to clear that up I have alot of friends from all over who drive them and i do give hats off to the drivers, I was just putting in my opinion, have always been a Modified, Pro/Factory Stock, Late Model Dude, SFS does play favorite to the Sprints, and alot of tracks across the country do the same thing, but you should treat each class the same no matter what or who is racing, just my .02 Smile

Ok I am a sprint car fan and a mod fan. If anyone has been to a USMTS show those cars can get up and move. The mods at Brills seem to move pretty well on that track as well esp if you are sitting pretty close to the fence.

Since people are talking about nights off and such. Let me bring up a question how many people does each divsion bring into the back gate? I know when the factory stocks were at their peak someone said you could roughly go four people/car in the pits. Who knows how many people in the stands for that one car would have. I also remember hearing people say that is why promotors would run "stock" cars as a support class for special shows b/c of the amount of fans they would bring in rather it be family or what not. I know this past year there was approx six people for the champ sprint I was helping with in the pits and the car next to us had three in the pits I know the numbers are not exact and all there could be less or more people depending on the situation. If you think about pit passes and all at the Fairgrounds each pit pass it about 20 bucks and GA to the stands is 10 bucks. So that is for every two fans in the stands you get one person in the pits. Since from what I am hearing about the ltmd mod division growing by leaps and bounds and if Lanny keeps the rules the same for this class, we all have a thought about that, then I could easliy see 30 to 40 cars in the pits with at least four people in the stands for each car.

I am not saying one is any better than the other. I am just thinking money and what a promotor might do. We all know Lanny is driven by money.

I used to be a sprint car hater. Damn things won't start on their own, and every time one of them spins out they gotta get re-push started. I still hate that part of sprint cars. For gosh sakes why can't there be a way to put a starter on the things. I understand , no fly wheel, but christ Henry Ford put a crank starter on his first cars. There should be a way to overcome this with all the modern technology.

Having said all that, I look forward to the sprints every week now, love to watch the passing, sliding, etc. And the speed is amazing. They even crash spectacularly (not that I like that). Sure some of the drivers are prima donnas. There are prima donnas everywhere.

You should keep in mind that stock car racing's beginnings, and its history are deeply rooted in full-body, stock production type cars (or some modification there of.) Take that away completely and its not stock car racing. From my position in the booth I can tell you, every class has its fans, and when there class is done, so are a lot of them. I've never bothered to count which class seems to have the most fans. I'm just glad they come!

I like any class of car that has more horsepower than traction on a track where the driver matters. I don't like classes where you don't have to lift and get hard on the brakes. I don't like classes where you can stand on the gas in turn 1 or turn 3. Call me silly but I like to see the driver driving, not the wing winging or a class with no horsepower.

Gimme some of that and an A feature with more than 10 or 12 cars and a few cars that come off the back and I don't care what class it is or how fast they're going, I like it.
