DOBSON GET’S 2ND WIN OF THE SEASON
8-30-08- BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY
Scott Dobson returned to Victory lane at Bakersfield Speedway after capturing his first career win at the season opening race. Scott started on the outside of the front row and took the lead going into turn one and lead all 25 laps with only one caution during the main brought out by first timer, 16 year old Dakota Schweitzer as he spun in turn 4. The race for the lead was a close one with Chuck West keeping the pressure on Dobson for several laps. While that was going on, I was trying to make my way through the pack after qualifying 1st and the invert had me starting in the 4th row. Rookie driver Jimmy Dodson had a great night as he started in the 3rd row and battled Dobson for the win in the closing laps. Dodson and myself were able to get by West as he bounced off the wall while racing for the lead, he did some damage to his car & dropped further back & for the 1st time this year he did not finish in the top 3. It was great to see Scott Dobson get another win as he also won his heat & Jimmy Dodson’s career best 2nd place finish. Although I always want to win, I was happy to be able to work my way up to take 3rd & had fun time doing it. Bruce Hiroshima followed in 4th with my team mate Anthony Lopiccolo rounding out the top 5. We will meet again on September 20th at Santa Maria for our final dirt show of the year. We will be on the pavement at Orange show speedway on October 11th.
