iTi Performance Motorsports is please to announce that Daron Clayton will be driving the iTi Performance Motorsports #83 Sprinter this weekend at Calistoga. This will be Darons fisrt time driving for Glenn Crossno and the iTi Performance Motorsports Team. Last evening, Daron told me that he is excited about his ride this weekend and is looking forward to racing at the historic Calistoga track. It will be his first time racing at this track.

I just can't get over his performance on the first night of the Oval Nationals last year, it was dominating. Should be fun to see him this weekend.

Does this mean David Cardy won't be driving for ITI any more, or is this just a one race thing?

Cardey is now driving the #38 sprinter, the one vacated by Pombo earlier in the year. This is probably the reason why Clayton will now be driving the #83 sprinter at Calistoga. Does anyone know when the deal between Crossno and Clayton came to fruition? If the deal was made while Pombo was still driving for Crossno, it could be the reason why Clayton was listed as driving the #2 sprinter. Just speculation on my part, but it seems a reasonable explanation to me.

I don't know anything about a conspiracy theory, but according to posters on the IOW message board, Clayton is worth the price of admission.

The reason Clayton was switched to the #83 is that number is eligible for a provisional and the #2 is not...............

To answer the questions that have been asked from above, David Cardey is still in the #38 car and will be for the rest of the year. Daron's deal was done about four weeks ago long after Davey Pombo left iTi. The reason that Daron is in the 83 car is because it allows for the option of a provisional should he need it as mentioned above. I agree, I remember seeing Daron at the Oval Nationals as well and he sure is exciting to watch. Daron, is excited as well about this weekend and one thing is for sure this will be a great race to see!

Is there any chance he might be in Glens car later in the year, ie; the Oval Nationals? Or is he still under contract with his car back east? He is one hell of an exciting driver to watch. I'm sure he could mix it up well with Danny and Garrett. Boy what fun it would be to see The Modern Day Cowboy and our Cowboy Tony Jones gettin' after it on a weekly basis! eeeeeeee haw!

He left the Truckers ride a few weeks ago and is back driving the family car. The guy certainly is exciting to watch. Hopefully the string doesn't break. He did a heck of job coming from the back driving through traffic at Sapulpa a few weeks back and was hanging it out the whole time.

That was something wasn't it Rich? Between that fight for the lead and Clayton slinging it into the turns like he was (reminded me of 'back em in' Bob Meli at Ascot), that was one exciting race.
We had one of our local guys watching the main and he took notice of how Clayton was running. Under a yellow he was asked: "Why don't you drive here like that Clayton kid is doing?" His reply was: "No thanks. I need my bones in one piece so I can work on Monday."

Yea...that Clayton is a fun one to watch!
PS: When you mentioned Swindell and Clayton. I'm thinking you meant 'Darren Hagen' would be the one Swindell would be happy to see via the Lakeside incident. No?

Yes Mr. Quinn is right I was referring to the oval nationals and the incident involving Sammy and Daron.
