Plenty to Decide on Season Championship Night This Saturday at Knoxville!

(Bill W) Two drivers will carry home the prestigious Knoxville Championship Cup this Saturday night! There will be a extra laps and extra money on the agenda for Season Championship Night this Saturday, sponsored by Alltel and Robuck's Automotive! One champion is decided already. Danny Lasoski will take his record eighth track championship home to Dover, Missouri. Matt Moro can't rest easy just yet in the 360 class, as he seeks his first Cup. He holds a 95 point lead over Gregg Bakker in that race!

The owner's championship in the 410 class has been clinched by Guy Forbrook, but the 360 race is a little tighter. Jesse Giannetto's #D1 is just 60 points behind the Moro #2m for the 360 title.

"Dynamite" Mark Dobmeier thrilled fans last week with his fourth career feature win in the 410 class, and will try to make it two in a row in this week's 25-lap slugfest. It would take a lot of luck for him to climb to second in the standings, as "Tornado" Billy Alley is 205 points ahead of him. Justin Henderson, now in the Gifford #17G, is 135 points behind Dobmeier, with "Blackjack" Brian Brown 180 points back in fifth.

Just ten points separate the sixth through eighth positions occupied by "Zoom Zoom" Dusty Zomer, Skip "Action" Jackson and "The Mile High Kid" Davey Heskin. Calvin Landis and "The Snake" Jake Peters round out the top ten.

Bakker is hoping for a championship, but he's not guaranteed a second place showing either as the 360 runners will go for 20 laps in deciding an outcome. "The Bulldogg" Jesse Giannetto is only 35 points out of the runner-up spot, and defending champion, Josh Higday, continues to climb the ladder, just 60 points out of second. Dustin Selvage is now in the top five, poised for his best finish ever, and Brett Mather, Ryan Roberts, Jon Agan, Joe Beaver and Dave Hall complete the top ten. Talented Natalie Sather is only 20 points out of the top ten, so you can bet she will be on her game Saturday night as well!

Don't miss the action at Knoxville Raceway this Saturday night! We'll see you at the Knoxville Raceway!

How come you never use "the Cyclone" Calvin Landis' nickname? Not picking a bone with ya but I think it's kinda cool

Not a bad idea considering the chasis he went to this year and cutting his teeth alongside the one and only "Tempe Tornado!"

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

How did a guy from St. Michael, Minnesota, get the handle "Mile High Kid?" I think of someplace in Colorado whenever I read that and I'll bet that Davey is a Vikings fan. wink

During our live webcasts at Knoxville, Bill W has a segment called "Hometown Hardball", where he asks different drivers 5 questions about their hometown. One night, Bill W had both Davey and Danny Heskin on the show and one of Bill's questions was, "What is the elevation of St. Michael, MN?" One of the boys said 4000 something and the other one said, no, it's 5000 something. In all reality, the elevation is only about 900 ft above sea level. That's how that evolved. Pretty funny when it happened and I guess it just stuck.
