not so much saying that. many have prescribed to a lot of the BS and misdirection some shell about him - i understand that at least. just as some democrats have made obama into something he isnt - the door swings both ways - the negative way for the reps and their perception of the guy too. but the above do have one thing in common ----- their party -----they all republicans. i just have a hard time seeing how anyone is a republican these days. although most the party base - idiots (dems have quite a bit too lol) - dont read a whole lot. kinda like how news jumps all over a political sex scandal - like edwards may-be-baby - or some reps confusion over what signals mean at airport bathrooms ------- but it rarely gets reported when in the last year - 3 different republican lawmen have retired their posts and gone to work for the same corporations they were mean to regulate? i'm the only who seems to have a problem with that - because - maybe - i;m the only one who knows about that lol. i'll stop there before i get going on mccain talkin bout 5 million being the line between middle class and rich..........and then stumbling like a fool afterwards trying to explain it.......... well it seems, maybe there is, in a way i think, i know folks will, what i;m trying to say is, that in the end it might, the perception might be, ummm, i guess in the end, the bottom line is.......................you;re an overaged out of touch neo-conservative idiot - and rove must have forgottten to prep him on that one. this is what happens when you get a guy running for office who needs a terrorist attack to win - or at the very least a president trying to start more conflicts to pinpoint mccains only perceived strength - natioanal security. the last thing they want is everything to be about economics. as he said anything over 5 million is rich --------- then there are about 200 million people who know more about economics than he does. war mongers are only good at wasting money ---- not being smart with it. this guy doesnt even know how many houses he owns! seriously if he cant remember the last time he was at each of them - SEVEN of em ------ than is he really fit to remember international treaties and different stuff like that?

as my worthy political adversary Duane - here is something i'd like you to read and comment on when you have a break in the day. read the comments on the bottom too ------- many are interesting.

so this story is the personal opinion of Greg Gordon

Now, just to make sure I read the story right, you are opposed to the deregulation of the phone companies?

I have not used a Bell company for a couple decades myself.

How does Bell dominate the long distance market? I have used my cell phone with unlimited free long distance for years.

Please let me know if I failed to understand McCains position properly.

Dear Friends,

The following is an article from the July 7, 2008, issue #27
from 'The American Free Press' Newspaper, an article by Assistant editor,
Pat
Shannon.

'It now appears that Barack Obama is consitutionally ineligible
for the office of president. John McCain's eligibility was established in
1964, when courts ruled Sen. Barry Goldwater was eligible although he was
born in Arizona when it was a territory, not a state. McCain was born in
the Panama Canal Zone when it was a U.S. territory.

And, even as the controlled media continues to ignore the
ineligibility of Obama, it will not go away. While few doubt that the
Democrats will manage to pull off his nomination, all remain poised to view
the legal performance.

The first hurdle will be having Obama produce his birth
certificate, which so far he has refused to do, and prove that he was born
in Hawaii on August 4, 1961,as he has always claimed. There is speculation
that his American mother may have brought him to Honolulu shortly after his
birth in Kenya, but no proof of that has been shown.

According to the law on the books at the time of Obama's bi rth,
the office of president requires that a candidate be a natural citizen if
the child was not born to two U.S. citizen parents. Since he was not, should
it be proven that Obama was not born in Hawaii, as claimed, he is ineligible
without further debate. But assuring that he was born there, he has another
problem.

According to a legal researcher who has contacted the AFP, U.S.
law very clearly states: 'If only one parent is a U.S. citizen at the time
of one's birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for a
minimum of 10 years, five of which must be after the age of 16.' And
therein lies Obama's new problem.

Barack Obama's father was never a U.S. citizen.

Interestingly, there isn't much paperwork on the marriage of
Obama's parents, and this has a few researchers spec ulating that it never
took place at all. On page 27 of 'Obama: From Promise to Power', David
Mendell writes: 'Obama later confessed that he never searched for the
government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama's maternal
grandmother) insisted they were legally married.' He also notes that
Obama's father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back
in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their
separation. This also would suggest that there may never have been any legal
marriage by Obama's parents at all, but the Constitution does not ban an
illegitimate child from the White House, as long as he was born inside the
U.S.

Obama's mother was born in Kansas and was only 18 when Obama was
born. This means even though she satisfied the citizen requirement for 10
years, she was not a citizen for at least five years prior to
Obama's birth. In essence, the mother alone is not old enough to qualify
her son fo r automatic U.S. citizenship. At most, two years elapsed from his
mother turning 16 to the time of Barack Obama's birth when she was 18. His
mother would have needed to have been 16 + 5 = 21 years old at the time of
Barack Obama's birth for him to be a natural-born citizen. Barack Obama was
already three years old at the time his mother turned 21.

Technically, Obama should have been naturalized as a citizen,
but that, of course, would disqualify him from holding the office of
president. If the allegations are accurate, America could install in January
of 2009 a new president who is not even a U.S. citizen, neither born nor
naturalized.

It should be demanded that Obama produce his 1961 Hawaiian birth
certificate.

If he cannot satisfactorily do so, he should be deemed
immediately ineligible to hold the office of president.'

now Okie, the internet has lots of shit in it, some true, some false, most only opinions that people use as facts to bolster their own opinion.

Don't try to bullshit a bullshitter such as myself with your cowpoopie.

I can come back with the P.H.D. (piled higher and deeper) answer. Mine hopefully will be as full of poop as yours

Nah, I wouldn't say that Duane. I just think that most of us are gettin' screwed and we just don't realize how much. I think I can speak for everyone here when I say that this site is a place and a sport that caters to the middle class. Many of the problems that we see occuring in the sport (not as many butts in the seats and lowering car counts for example) can be directly tied to the continuing struggles of the middle class. I havn't seen a candidate from either major political party that has honestly put forth a plan or any legislation to improve our situation. Ron Paul would have been the best candidate this time around but he didn't have enough financial backing to compete on the campaign trail. What does that tell ya?

Let's lay all of the morality/religious stuff aside. Honestly, wether or not a couple of homosexuals can get married or if some bar fly can take a trip to the local clinic to get rid of her little mistake is all secondary. It's all fluff used to distract us from what our main focus should be.

Over 40 million working americans with sub-standard or no health insurance yet, we give prisoners full health insurance, free housing and 3 square meals a day. Doesn't sound like punishment or discouragement to me.

Millions in our inner cities that are lifelong welfare recipients, get government assistance to pay their bills and don't lift a hand to do a damn thing their whole lives unless its dealing drugs, stealing from the middle class or selling a loser culture to our children through "rap music" and other media that glorifies that kind of existence. Yet, we have an immigration problem and most of us turn our heads and pretend we don't see because the illegals are "willing to perform a job that most americans aren't willing to do". Why do the people who get a free hand out all their lives get a free pass on this and don't have to work for their meals? Sounds like we have a ready(if not willing) workforce to do all the stuff that we let the illegals do. Citizenship should be an earned privelege, not a right.

Billions in tax dollars sent overseas to people and governments that openly oppose and despise our way of life. For example, the number one contributer in foreign aid to afghanistan in 2001 was the united states. I don't think I need to educate any of you about where the terrorists that perpitrated 9/11 were being housed and trained. Many of these nations are surpassing our children in education and taking jobs away from our workforce, while american religious leaders tell us that we need no other answers to science than "God made it". Earlier this very week, a group of county commisioners in Tenessee voted to keep some schools closed and limit other school activities so they could have the lowest property taxes in their state.

When a natural disaster happens halfway across the globe and we send our troops, food and medicine to that area free of charge, who pays for it?

When we send foriegn aid oversees to countries that burn our flags and openly call for our death in the streets, who pays for it?

When oil companies give 400 million dollar severance packages, free lifetime personal jets and enough stock options that they can wipe their asses with hundred dollar bills the rest of their lives to their CEO's while the price goes up and up at the pump, who pays for it?

Who's gettin' screwed from every percievable direction including their own government?

If your answer to all of those questions was the middle class, congratulations, you passed the quiz.

You know for my whole life, the president has represented the radical left or the radical right.

the radical wackos (both parties) are willing to go out and work hard to get their peoples name on the ballot as the 70% of the populkation that is "normal" gets no representation.

With Obumba, I feel he is the worst of the bad with his known friends ect.

With McCain, I think his "free spirt" and being his own man, I think the 70% of the people in the middle may just for the first time have someone that represents Joe Average. The radical right wingers may just have a peg knocked down a bit, and I think it is just about time.

IF people would look at what the candidates have donw, I think they will find out that Oboma gives a good teleprompter speach, but really has done very little for his country.

Slave...

My only comment is that there are probably less than 50 to 100 people who actually earn a living wage from owning or racing a sprint car. Most are owned/sponsored by folks or companies who use the marketing perspective of the sport an a "tax write-off", to offset earnings in other areas. And who pays the taxes that these folks are not paying? Yep, the same old middle class... and this sport, and its fans, are pursuing a leisure time activity.

One that, while we're zealous about it and enjoying it, can actually go away with minimal impact to the economy. Yes, a few manufacturers will close, jobs will be lost, and other things will happen if sprint car racing goes away, but in the long run, not too many folks will really notice that it's gone.

But almost all of us go to the sprint races to escape the rest of the BS that occurs in the world during the day, so whatever happens, will happen. By all means, be concerned about what's going on in the world - but I'd prefer to just think about sprint car racing when I'm here. There are tons of other venues/sites/message boards/blogs where I can hear/see politcal stuff spouted and sprayed. I can go there if I choose - but I choose to come here to discuss/view/share racing stuff. I just wish that others would, too....

If you, or others, choose to go off topic, at least post O/T in the message header, so we can avoid the chatter....and nodust, while I enjoy most of your humor, I'd wish that you'd take the politcal stuff elsewhere, too.

Sprinter25, I agree. I usually am annoyed by the political posts myself but I often find myself voicing an opinion in them. When I'm guilty, I'll admit it lol....Considering that its an election year, I don't think that they'll be going away until early next year. It's a topic that is very invasive and it's human nature for people to bring it up in conversation wherever they go. It's true that they don't belong here. I'll never argue that they do.

I also agree that if racing was to go away there would be little if any effect on the economy. There is no doubt however, that if the current trend of escalating costs of racing combined with a shrinking and over burdened middle class continues, sprint car racing as we know it will quickly come to an end. This is a subject that should be very near and dear to our hearts and does have a place on this board in my opinion.

Maybe we should limit our political conversations to that aspect but, that will be much easier said than done.

Would guess Obuma is not a race fan, though he is a "race" fan. The guy has had nothing but contempt for white people his entire life, including saying negative things about his white mother and grandmother. He's a clone of Rev Al and Jesse J. You sit in that church for 20 years, Sunday after Sunday, and say nothing. When the media finds out the whole congregation is racist and has a strong hate-America slant, then Obuma says he didn't agree with the "bad" things the preacher said. There is a reason he picked that church. That church is famous for what it is in Chicago. If you had a distant relative, twice removed, who had a friend who attended one KKK-type meeting, you'd have been kicked out of the Senate.

A government that robs Peter (taxpayers) to pay Paul (those on the public dole) can always count on the support of Paul. 43.4% of American taxpayers contributed zero net dollars in Federal income taxes for IRS year 2006. You add more welfare programs and expand existing programs, more and more people say, "what the H", its easier to sit on your duff. Guess what party they belong to.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

OK, the part I have to challenge and contend you have no idea what you are talking about is the claim that 200 million people know more about economics than John McCain -- or any major national candidate for that matter. Only 30 percent of the U.S. population has at least a bachelor's degree. The majority of people in this country have never taken a formal economics course.

Just from reading people's opinions on here about the WRG stock price and financial statements, I can assure you that the majority of the population does not know more about economics than John McCain. It is also pretty much certain that Obama knows more about economics than the overwhelming majority of the general population.

I'd read a lot less of these if some posters would add "Off Topic" to the message header. It would serve as a warning, at least... but "get ready" says nothing about the thread or its contents.....
