Hanford, CA – August 16th….Peter Murphy and the Tarlton and Son Inc., Sprint car team loaded up and made the short trip down the road to Kings Speedway to race with the Bandit 360 Non-Wing Sprint cars. Peter, who is the Bandit point's leader, had his sights set on stretching his points lead even further.

To say that the team is hitting on all cylinders right now would be a huge understatement. Peter is extremely confident every time that the car hits the race track, and all of us at Peter Murphy Racing contribute that to having such dedicated and hard working people in our camp.

-Kings Speedway: Rolling through the gate, Peter was still dealing with a bit of nagging lower back pain suffered from a heat race shunt a couple of weeks back. Never one to complain, the talented and versatile driver cinched the belts tight, threw on the helmet, tightened the chin strap, then proceeded to take the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Tarlton and Son Inc., Ridgeline Framing, Kaeding Performance, Shark Powered #21 around the tricky speedway for hot laps.

Peter qualified 5th out of the 23 cars in attendance. After some adjustments made by the always hardworking crew, Peter worked his way through the field and brought home the win in Heat #2. Peter would take advantage of his outside front row starting spot and led all 30-laps in the Sharp Insurance, VMAC, BR Motorsports, Fresno First Bank, Matt & Glass, Pro Signs, Tom Tarlton owned Maxim. However, it wasn't a "gimme", as veteran hot shoe Davey Pombo kept Peter on his toes, dogging him the whole way.

"It was difficult for all of us out there" Murphy reflected after the race. "I knew Davey was behind me, I felt him 'tickle' me a bit, but he's a clean driver, and I want to thank him for that."

-Peter Murphy Racing would like to thank: All of our loyal sponsors and fans!

-Up Next For PMR! Peter Murphy will be at Ventura Raceway for the final Grand Slam series race. Peter, who is the 2005 series champion, carries a slim lead over defending champion, Greg Taylor.
