Okay,

I HATE Donny Schatz... I think I have posted that as a topic on this message board...

We've also established that the cautions cost Meyers the race... My BIG problem with Walker was when you stop directly in front of the 50 yard across pit entrance, you're on the bottom so no one is going to be under you, and it is about to rain... that's not smart whether it's Knoxville or the B-Main in a bomber/street stock race...

That said...

What in God's Holy Name was Meyer's doing on those restarts... One the where he lost the lead Schatz was all of about 1cm from his back bumper the whole way around 3-4... I don't know exactly what trick Meyers was using but Donny had seen it before... then Meyers freaked out when Schatz got around him and drove through the middle of 1-2 right before the Stewart caution... Schatz pulled him by 4-5 car lengths in that turn alone... then Meyers got his freaking doors blown off on that last caution... doors blown off...

so... screw Schatz... grr...to Meyers... and kudos to Dollansky, Wright, McCarl (good charge up through the field) and as always GO JAC!!!

I wish Earl still did Eldora's track prep.

If you put as much heat to the tires as Jason Meyers had done for nearly 20 laps, they tend to seal over during cooling under the caution. When you try to take off they dont bite well and good luck getting it through the turns the way the car had been prior to the caution. Donny himself stated that he was saving his tires by not running them as hard during the early part of the race, I guess he knew a caution would be a critical element late in the race. I am not a Shatz fan but he did play a good strategy and won the race fair and square. Meyers will get a Nationals in his career, he is paying his dues just like all the others who have won. $75,000 is still a fine payday.
Cheers!
