Received a phone call from Tony Jones around 2:15 today. His father, National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Bubby Jones, came through today's surgery with flying colors. Tony said everything went perfect and Bubby will make a full recovery. Tony wants to thank everyone for the their thoughts and prayers for Bubby.

Smile better news than hearing Phelps winning a medal. Hope Bubby can come out to the Oval Nationals in the Fall!

Here's wishing Bubby the best. I can remember when the Kazarian brothers hired him to come out to Ascot from the midwest to drive their car for what was allegedly the unheard sum of $500 per week. I don't know if that was the right number or not; however, even as long ago as that was, he was worth every penny of it. USAC might have had the "Gary and Larry Show;" however, CRA had the "Bubby and Deano" show.

The last time I saw Bubby was about 8 or 10 years ago at a USAC touring show at the Terre Haute Action Track. He was a proud man that evening as his son won his first feature race that evening.

Today is a good day, My Hero Ol Bub kicks but again.

Bub was my fav as a kid, then to get to race with him! WOW! and now to think of him as a friend is even better. Anyone that ever saw Bubby drive will never forget it. Anyone that knows him is for ever better for it.

See you soon Bub.

Norman Bubby Jones.

1998 inductee, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Twenty-two USAC national sprint cars series main event wins.

Eighty career CRA main event wins (second only to Deano; most of Rip's 100+ wins were in SCRA).

Thirty-two CRA trophy dash wins.

Nine CRA main event wins each in 1980 and 1981.

Fifteen CRA main event wins in 1982.

Eighteen CRA main event wins in 1983.

Thirteen CRA main event wins in 1984.

1983 and 1984 CRA sprint car champion.

1976 Turkey Night Grand Prix winner (Ascot Park).

1984 Pacific Coast Nationals winner.

Started the Indianaplois 500 twice (1977 and 1978).

Fathered an uncertain number of children.

Put up with a lot of fawning fans.

One of THE class acts in the sport.

And did a great job racing his sons. Maybe his most accomplished achievement.
