A very reliable source posted the update below on the Grove message board regarding Jeff Shepard:

I just got off the phone with Michelle, Jeff’s girlfriend and she, and his friends Rick and Cindy wanted me to get an update on Jeff’s condition as of 12:30pm Saturday.
He is still in critical but stable condition at the Des Moines Medical Center.
His second CT scan showed no change in the swelling/bleeding on his brain and Doctors will continue to monitor that over the next 72 hours but are optimistic it will subside.
Jeff has responded to all commands/orders by Doctors today and he knows his mom and dad, Michelle and Rick and Cindy by name.
We will have an update daily on Jeff’s condition if at all possible so a lot of the unnecessary rumors can be put to rest.
The Shepard family would like everyone to continue to pray for Jeff and his well being and thanks everyone for their care and concern so far.
As soon as we can get an address for cards, it will be posted.
Thank You
Brad Vores

You're welcome guys!!

I normally wear a Keith Kauffman shirt, but tonight I'm wearing my Shep shirt at Port Royal.

Hope he pulls thru and possibly be able to race again someday soon!! The Jet is an awesome and exciting driver!

Thank you for the update on Jeff. He and his family and friends remain in my thoughts and prayers. I'm praying that the next 72 hours are good ones and that the swelling and bleeding do subside. Jeff is a really nice guy and a great driver.
