Swindell shot off to the early lead in the 30-lapper. Darland moved by Hockett and Whitt early to second. On lap four, Hines stopped on the backstretch. Swindell led Darland, Whitt, Hockett who had a pass for third negated by the yellow, and Gardner. Darland powered by on the restart and a lap was complete before another caution, this time for debris. Darland led four more laps before Zimmerman flipped in three and four. He was unhurt. Now Darland led Swindell, Whitt, Gardner and Hockett. Darland separated himself from the field the next ten laps, while Gardner moved into third and was pressuring Swindell for second. On lap nineteen, the "Demon" crashed hard in turn four. He was uninjured. Darland now led Swindell, Whitt, Coons Jr. and Schuerenberg back to green flag racing. Coons Jr. found his way to third before the last slowdown occured on lap 25, when Boat, who had surged to fifth, tagged the turn one wall and flipped. He was unhurt. Swindell made a couple of late bids for the lead, but Darland held steady to pocket $30,000. The win was car owner Scott Benic's third triumph in the UC. Taylor buzzed forward 13 spots to win the Keith Hutton Hard-charger Award and a $1000 gift certificate to Brown and Miller Racing Solutions.

Not much passin' it would appear, let's see what full inverts do the next couple of nights at Knoxville, hmmmm. Nice to see Darland get the big bucks, is anyone more deserved? Nice run last night by the Bulldog, sure wish he had a ride at the Nationals to show his prowess with and without the shed. Take It Easy....

There was plenty of passing.

The FRC was the event without much passing.

I thought this was one of the better races I've seen this year. Like someone else said it would be nice to see the non winged cars run on Friday night at the nationals. These guys put on a great show.

I thought it was pretty good, track was fast and there was some passing.. TK found a way to pass I haven't seen very many people pull off at Osky and that's sayin a lot when I've grown up at that track... Would have probably made the main even more interesting if he would have kept up his relationship with the wall... just a thought!

It was a great show, plenty of passing in the heats and qualifiers, as well as the A Main.

Only 1 complaint, fix the freakin' PA system.

I stand corrected, just not much passin' for the lead, is that better? Let's compare what the total invert does over the next couple of nights from Knoxville. Take It Easy....

PS 6 Wins from the front row, two from third starting spot and a couple of winged guys from the third row......

The best part of the race was when they threw the checkered flag.....Swindell could've (should've) pulled a slider on Darland, but apparentley he had to be on his best behavior to avoid being banned from future USAC events?
