anyone steppin up to travel to see one of the best sprint car races in the world?
for all those that cant. remember all 3 nights of the 360 nationals at knoxville as well as the Brodix Tournament of Champions will be broadcast LIVE - not audio - but LIVE video feed ------- on - I think it's Race Network - or something like that. anyone know the exact site?
but yeah there are 124 sprints entered right now - and apparently OKC's own - "The Villain" Larry Neighbors will be makin the tow. thats 125 sprints split in half for thurs. and fri. - and then all 125 will race saturday - as well as a 410 weekly show which is the last tuneup for the 410 nationals and draws about 45-50 410 sprints usually. we're talkin 170 sprints for 21 bucks! (or 13$ to watch on the net)
few races in the nation rival this. the 410 nationals of course (although by majority of accounts the 360's have outdone the 410 nat's both years since it was moved to august - but that aint nothing against the 410's - just means the 360's are strong). the Short Track Nationals. and the Gold Cup in Chico, CA. and the Chili Bowl. the Knoxville 360 Nationals are definitely among the top 5 races of the year nationwide. and you dont even have to deal with the crowds - although thats great in a way - this show needs more support. folks should pull their heads out of the butts and realizeb 410's dont provide superior racing to 360's. maybe in due time i guess.
it is amazing that the 360 nat's pulled this field. as the All-Stars intentionally scheduled directly against them all four nights in the area. they did pull Tim Kaeding and Danny Lasoski - but those prob knew their chances against 125 sprints at Knoxville. overcoming gas prices, the All-Stars, Belleville Midget Nationals, and even the World of Outlaws in Wisconsin - and still 125 sprints. if you cant make it - do watch at least a few nights of the internet broadcast. i believe it is 8 bucks each night except saturday is 13$. worth the price to see 60,60, 160, and 60 in the comfort of your air conditioned home. i think you can get all 4 days in a package as well. well however you can - this show is worthy of your support! and the forecast looks great! a small 30% of rain thursday - but clear each day past that.
and wish your SFS or sooner state reps the best of luck. Joe Wood Jr. and the Villain Larry Neighbors will be giving it a go. it's the one time of the year we'll root hardcore for the bad guy (neighbors) LOL. and other sooner reps Trey Robb, Nick Smith, Wayne Johnson (kinda), Zach Chappell, Kenneth Walker, Sheldon Leesekamp, Gary Taylor (kinda), and Matt Covington. should be a great 4 nights of racing!
as for the sooner state. should be a great race at Enid. good luck to Propps and some of the other metro area guys giving it a go. Wescoe and myself will be lookin forward to reading updates of it on here. and btw - is anyone going to post SFS results friday night after the race? i'm thinkin david will be in enid that night ------- but its about the only way the fantasy league is gonna be scored before next Tuesday....is anyone able and willing to do this?
