Ventura County Fair Motorsports events scheduled for Wednesday July 30 and Thursday July 31
Drivers and crews are getting ready for the annual Ventura County Fair Motorsports events scheduled for Wednesday July 30 and Thursday July 31. These two days of exciting motorsports action will feature VRA Sport Compacts, Dwarf Cars, Mini Dwarf Cars, Junior Midgets, NMRA TQ Midgets and a Destruction Derby on Wednesday and IMCA Modifieds, VRA/USAC Ford Focus, Junior Focus and Destruction Derby on Thursday. Drivers will be competing for glory in these events that have played to full house, standing room only crowds for the past several years. Admission to these events is included in the FAIR admission price.
One of the main highlights of these events is the two nights of Destruction Derby. For the past several years FAIR crowds have witnessed some of the best Derby action to be seen anywhere. Over twenty cars are expected each night to crash and bash their way to glory and the nightly $1000.00 winner’s purse amount. Rules for this event are posted on Ventura Raceway’s webpage, venturaraceway.com.
Our pits will open each day at 10:30 AM so come early get set up and enjoy the FAIR which opens each day at 11:00 AM. Tech will come to your cars beginning at 12:00PM. Driver’s meetings will be held at 4:00 PM. Racing on both nights begins at 6pm for adult classes. Kid’s classes will start earlier on Wednesday at a time to be determined. Pit pass prices for this event are $30.00. Destruction Derby entry fees are $50.00 and include one pit pass for the driver.
Remember parking is extremely limited and it is only for race rigs. Get there as early as you can as we cannot guarantee parking for you if you get there after the space is used up. All spaces will be first come first served. We will not be able to allow the holding of spaces for people coming later in the day, next to any team’s rigs, as the space is just too limited for this. No personal vehicles are permitted in the pits and there is no parking on the dirt lot near the Raceway, so come together in your race rigs. If you must come in a personal vehicle you will need to park in FAIR parking and make your way to the pit office.
