Brad Bumgarner is back at his house on Sunday afternoon. Brad flipped in qualifying on Saturday night and right away was in serious pain. He was taken to Enloe Hospital where he found out the bad news. He has a compressed and fractured T-5 vertebrae. He is struggling with the pain, however, his spirits seem to be good. I spoke with him for a few minutes at his house and he wanted to thank all his friends and the fans for their support. He was wearing a body brace and will need to wear it for the next two months, possibly three. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks to make sure everything is healing properly. Fans can send get well cards to his home address.

Thanks for the update Troy. It's been a pleasure watching Brad really grow over the last month and seeing how good he was getting with the wing. I know we've all been very impressed with the speed he was showing and the back-to-back 3rd place finishes he scored with GSC and Civil War in Chico. Definitley hope he starts to feel better as quickly as possible.

Hope it's a quick recovery! Not a fun thing though, our 15 year old grand-daughter fractured her back in the same spot this year and had to wear the back brace 3 months, but she continued playing volleyball after about a month. Hope the same thing works out for you!!!
