wow! i mean - wow! look at last weeks standings versus this weeks. changes all over. amazing it is still this competitive after 19 full weeks of this. 20 full race nights. not 1 rainout. seriously ya'll - most years - 20 races is about what we got in - rainout would nix the other 5 or 6 weeks. i think we are lucky not just to have gotten 20 races in with no rainouts - but the fantasy league is all the better for it. with as good as this week was in this league - I'm gonna have to do a short recap - but first I want to thank all 15 of you for all this. for steppin up and playin - and even more for sticking with it the way ya'll have. i appreciate whatever thanks or praise i get for presiding over it - but right now i want to return that thanks to each of you. and also to those who helped kick this thing off the ground back in the spring - who offered insight and ideas. and to the co-founders - Bobcat JD and Dogwater.thank you for reading my novelesque e-mails lol. well anyways - to be on with it.
In a very very crucial matchup in Division 1 (they all crucial now lol) - Bobcat sidesteps the slide job by 1 point - 1 point. and stays within shot of the leaders. Cushion Pushers makes it 2 in a row after the unlucky spell - moving back into 4th by virtue of defeating the struggling Bull Slingers. and 2 more important matchups - Polish Posse defeats circle jerks and the resurgent Dirt Bandits tames the seemingly unbeatable Dogwater. as a result - Dogwater's long ass reign of division 1 supremacy ends - and Jorski moves into the top slot - albeit by the thinnest of margins - as both are tied but Polish has a slightly lower point total. what was already a barnburner between these 2 is sure to get even more explosive. this one will be fun to watch - will jorski take it - or will dogwater re-establish himself in front - or will Bobcat pull the improbable in the final month of fantasy play. the heat of august has made its way into the fantasy world for sure. now for division 2.
the battle of the buds was close. Just BS sliced the cheese by 1 point. very crucial result. D.T. Cowboys keeps his head in the hunt by a 20 point win over the struggling Assassins. I avenged my former loss to Speed Racer by 24 pts. and my dad defied me (small wonder). I stated that his high weekly pt. totals wouldn't fly against Carr Racing - nope - wrong. he puts up a 36 and still wins by 12. guess that is a consolation after his wife totaled his car today (another small wonder lol). with all of this - Just BS surpasses Airflow for the 6th spot. Just BS and Rounders play spolier. DT Cowboys stays alive. and now a 3 way tie for 2nd behind The Nut Sacks. I been on a 10 week roll - attaining a 2 game lead with 4 matchups left. I'll prob still find a way to blow it - but its pretty cool for now.
the featured matchups for next week are - Polish Posse vs. Cushion Pushers in Div 1. Wescoe needs this one or will be mathmatically eliminated from 1st place contention. and it is important for Polish for the obvious reasons. in division 2 it has to be Carr Racing vs. Cheese Heads. the implications of this matchup are HUGE! the winner stays well in the hunt either 1 or 2 games out. the loser will be staring down either a 3 game hole - or at best a 2 game hole with 3 weeks left. so check out these Fantasy League All-Stars as they do battle in Week 20.
