This picture was taken at one of the Knoxville nationals. Yes that is me in the car lol. My dad is from Western Iowa and we were visting my grandparents at this time He called the track the day before and asked if they had tickets for the Sat. night race and they said yes. We loaded up in my grandparents station wagon and headed to Knoxville. We got to the track and I was in awe. We parked across the street from the track. I cant remember if it was me or my brother or me that had to go to the bathroom but my mom got us into the bar that was on the side of the road to use the restroom. What I do remember, other than the rain that got the feature rained out, was that I was sitting in the parking lot and I saw this 88 car pull in on an open trailer. The driver filped in between 3 and 4 and i told my dad I saw this car pull in. It is kinda funny how a event has an inflence on your life.
I went to college and I met a guy that went to alot of the Penn. tracks, as a kid, and I remember he would come over to my apartment and watch the Nats on TV. When I moved in to the dorms my freshman year he was wearing a Keith Kauffman shirt and I knew I needed to hook up with this guy.
