How does it work? Just returned from a real sprint car track-Williams Grove. Just sprint cars-25,000 to win-30 dollar admission. Oshweken-35 tonight-40 tomorrow-plus my favorite class-mini stocks just to fill the back gate. Williams Grove-42 or 43 quality 410"s.-Oshweken-possibly 12-14 410's and the rest are field filler's, aka, 360's. I live 1 hour from Oshweken and will not attend. I only go to the U.S. for sprint car races and a few I've been to. No, I'm not ranting, I'm just pissed at the promoters profits.

Remember Williams Grove had 2 prime weekend nights for there races, not week nights. Also not sure how many people Oshweken holds. Williams Grove historically is a little less than most tracks for WOO. I agree it will not be the quality field of cars that were at the Grove.

Why would you be ticked that the promoter's hard work would payoff in big profits? There is a reason that this EVENT is now a two day show in the middle of the week. Obviously, Mr. Styers and Co. have done a very good job of selling the excitement of World of Outlaws sprint car racing to the area.
This is a special event. Only once a year do people in the area get to see sprint car racing of this calibre. Unlike at the Grove or Knoxville, who have sprint car racing on a weekly basis and the WoO coming in multiple times, this is a once-a-year big time event for these fans. Obviously, the quality of area sprint car racing doesn't match up well with PA., OH, or the Midwest. Fans in these areas see quality on a weekly basis and the motivation to see the WoO take on the locals is different than at places that don't have sprint cars of that quality.
If the promoter can make money on a $40 ticket, so be it. If people deem that the value is not worth the price, then there will be an adjustment in the future.
Comparing Oshweken to Williams Grove or Knoxville is like comparing apples to oranges. Completely different entities but appealing in their own right.

the 35 and 40 is only for reserved seating. general admission is only $20 each night
there will be 17 outlaws there and at least 7 other 410s- so thats a full field
as for the mini stocks, ask anyone that was there last year, they were entertaining. you have to have an undercard and they are put on like a 15 or 20 minute clock to ensure they don't drag the show on.
if you ask me, it's an ideal situation

Looks to me that Styers is practicing the lost art of PROMOTION! Not only does is take a obscure distant track to the front page of sprint car racing but also to television. At the same time he treats the fans well and goes beyond the expected to keep the racers happy. If we had a hundred more like him sprint car racing would rival NASCAR.

Whaaaaa!!! Whaaaaa!!! So just stay on the porch and keep sucking on that soother. Glen's put his life into that track, so he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants. Making money is the reason for owning a race track and bringing in the outlaws. Show you're displeasure by not attending, Im sure you'll be in the minority!! That area of the country is not blessed with many 410's anyways. Some of us, myself included, would love to have a WoO show an hour from home.

I went to Ohsweken last year and it was an awesome show! That track is just as good as William's Grove. In fact I would say those two are my two favorite tracks I've ever been to. Last year Danny Smith showed up, which surprised me. Dustin Daggett will also be there with a 410 and last year he got his first WoO heat win at that track. They had a total of 38 cars last year, by the way. Johnny Gibson also said himself that Ohsweken had the best dash of the season. And what's else, Jason Sides won, so you didn't get the same old same old.

I also wouldn't be surprised if a few unexpected drivers showed up. Jeremy Campbell being from Michigan isn't that far away, and who else is from Michigan? Chad Blonde. And Dale Blaney made the tow to the 360 Nationals in 2006, and I'm convinced the only reason he didn't last year was because he was at an ASCoC race the same night. With a two day show, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Danny Smith, Dale Balney, Brock Mayes, maybe Greg Wilson and other All-Stars.
