That's the best I've seen this car run in a very long time! Good job by the garst kid. Don't know if it's for a one race deal or what. There's been a few drivers in it lately.

Best it's ran in a while? Come on! There were barely enough cars for a b-main at Knoxville last night! That car won't go anywhere until they can learn to listen to their drivers!

Maybe thats the problem... Gil could be doing what he did years ago because it worked then... times have changed.

Not at ALL that I am bad mouthing Gil. He is an old family friend. I give him the utmost respect for still fielding a car, for so many years. Depends....Is Donnie Crewing? Cause that could explain it all...

No badmouthing here, just stating what I see to be a possible issue.

gil and donnie are two of the most decent guys in racing.they have supported this sprintcar deal for over 40 years.they dont deserve a bunch of computer cowboys putting them down.hopefully garst can get the job done. seems to me the no talent drivers that have driven the#47

this year were the real problems.

Jeff Mitrisin has no talent? Huh?! He might have won the 410 pts battle in 2000 had he not accompanied his wife to a beauty pageant in Hawaii on Season Championship night. The hard knock he took in turn two a little later on slowed him down some I think (who wouldn't it!?) - but if you don't think he has talent, you haven't seen him race much.

I thought Don Droud Jr. gave that car a good run when he drove it. Especially the second time on Twin Features night.

I'm not that familiar with the inner workings of the crew and car, but I have been told by an ex-driver of that partilcular car that he feels the problem evolved when they decided to take their

engine program in house and they have had problems ever since. There you go.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

sprintfn1..............obviously you are clueless............there have been several good drivers in the 47 over the past few years.........when the "crew chief" doesn't allow the driver to change ANYTHING on the car to make it work for them, then the driver looks less than adequate. Maybe you should speak with a few of the drivers to get their opinion on why the car doesn't work..........the way I read the other posts, no one is putting down the owner or the "crew chief", but just stating facts that you seem to have no clue about...............

The real problem is Donnie Sonner in this racing outfit.. He bad mouths everybody even Don Lamberti the guy who bought them two brand new outlaw cars one new motor this year. Donnie couldn't crew chief a hobby stock team. The last year that car done anything good is the year after Gilly came home from the outlaw tour I guess Gilly was still in charge then. If someone would tell Donnie to stay at the shop like he did when the 47 was on the outlaw tour Gilly might get a feature win one more time.

Jeff Mitrisin has plenty of talent and a great driver. Jeff has really made cars run with underfunded situations. The 10 car is going forward since Jeff climbed back in the car. I heard Don Droud say a quote to some fans about the 47 'All of a sudden it spun out, no idea what happened". Many x-drivers including a late 80's star that drove the car. He would hope the car would turn and stick at the same time each corner.

droud's comment was also on the same night that there was a nice slick spot in turn one and more than one person had an issue in that corner and even the feature winner talked about how bad it was there so lets not bust out the 47 guys all the way

You guys rag on them for lack of car setup. I say that they're pretty amazing. I mean look at it this way... I'm not sure Karl Kinser could set up a car to spin out in turn two so consistently.

Everyone really likes Gil - probley never a nice person in the racing game - but Donnie - will I think anyone that spends much time around him will see where the problems might be.

I remember several times when Donnie made the comment "Driver's are a dime a dozen, and I've got a roll of dimes in my pocket" and would say it within ear shot of the driver.
