A buddy who races Limited Late Models asked me what fuel for the sprintcars cost per gallon??
He is paying $7.75 for the fuel in his Limited Late Model Now

Isn't it made from Natural gas? So it has not went up with Crude oil prices. Kinda wondering myself

I've seen methanol advertised on IOW for $3/gal if you buy a drum...I foget who the dealer was, though..

Remote Control Car fuel is up to $26 a gallon! I also heard that methanol is double what it was last year. I can't remember for sure the price... $4.50? That may be last years cost! LOL

Methanol price has gone down since last year. It is at 2.89 a gallon when we buy it by the barrel this year. 20 dollars is taken off the bill if you bring the empty barrel back.

Keep in mind though, even the big flat half that PB's buddy most likely races on, that little 2 bbl carb doesn't suck more than 4 or 5 gallons per night, hotlaps thru feature.

i have heard 6 bucks a gallon in cali at some tracks. a friend bought 8 barrels and it came out to around 3.40 a gallon

right around $2.90 -$3.00 depending on who you buy from, (up here, aprox 100 south of the canadian border) burning close to 20-25 gallons a night on a 3/8's pretty reasonably priced IMO if you consider the cost of getting to the track,a new RR or LR, pit passes , and a crappy hotdog at $3.00, a beer at $3.00 Id drink the methanol if it didn't give me heartburn!
