FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 12, 2008 - Park City, Kansas - The O'Reilly/NCRA sprint car presented by ICM/Ethanol race scheduled for 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas tonight has been rained out. No makeup date has been announced.
The series will attempt to be back in action next Saturday night as they make their second appearance of the season at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas. The National Championship Racing Association is entering it's 38th season of sanctioning dirt track races, this year in five different states in its sprint car, modified and late model divisions combined. The 2008 race season will see the series' sprint car division compete for the 19th consecutive year. I talked with the folks at the race track around 11:20 this morning and they gave me the news of the decision to cancel the sprint car portion of the program. The person I spoke with stated they were going to determine later in the day, whether or not they were going to cancel the other local classes running companion to the NCRA. The weather obviously won. Kind of odd though how C.Ray and the NCRA crew do thing sometimes.

gavin punch pulled what we did in 2006 but in reverse. we went to okc on friday - but went to the sooner region race at little rock on staurday - and then drove from little rock to wichita kansas for a sunday ncra show. will never do that shit again - prob couldn't anyways with the high gas prices.
o - actually i bet with them callin it so early he never went up there - just drove from collinsville (tulsa) to little rock. prob still a steady 5-6 hour tow though. I think it took us 6.5 or 7 to make it from little rock to wichita. we drove somthing like 20 hours total from sat. morn to sun. night. something liek that. it was crazy - not much fun either...
