What is up with lapped cars?? Tonite at Manzy, a few lappers caused several incidents and damage that was not necessary... Racing for position is one thing, but come on..... When a driver is getting lapped it's obvious the car doing the lapping as much faster so why would they race to stay on the same lap and risk damage and possible injuries... The 96 car almost caused several incidents, and was directly at fault for an incident on a restart that tool out at least 2 cars. The 20s car was not much better... Granted, these are both newer drivers, but they have to be aware on a restart who is around them. Holding their line and letting the faster car work by them seems like it would be the thing to do... And the antics of Mike Martin on the last 2 laps were just ridiculous... Mike is not new to the sport and has shown much improvement in his driving this year... It was like he had a brain fart tonite... And while I am on the subject, is there a rule in ASCS that the blue/yellow flag is not used? It seems as if that would be a good way to warn the slower cars that a faster car was approaching to lap them so they do know to hold their line. That is all the faster car needs is for the slower one to hold their line. The faster car will get by, they are faster. I know Ron Shuman had a talk with the 96 driver after the restart incident.... And Jeremy Sherman had a little post race "discussion" with Mike Martin. I am not a fan of those type of "discussions", but in this case it seemed to be warranted. The cost of racing is going up, and with the economy hurting racing right now, tearing up cars needlessly needs to be addressed. Not to mention the safety issues. Come one guys, we fans go to see good, fast, intelligent racing. It seems that some may need a refresher course on curing the "cranium in the rectum" way of driving that went on tonite. I sincerely hope it doesn't happen tomorrow when they move out to the half mile and the speeds are much greater...... Accidents happen, it is sprint car racing... But when they don't need to happen and a race drags on like it did tonite, it is not good for the car owners, drivers and certainly does not help garner and retain new fans.....

Your right maybe Mike was racing a little too hard but, there was no blue/yellow and i didnt know people raced to get lapped. Of coarse mike is going to race hard. Its too bad that "that PUNK" cant handle it. he won the race and then decides to wreck 2 cars. your absolutely right racing is damn expensive and the ecomy isnt helping, if you wanna be mad at anyone for wrecking cars it the "PRETTY BOY" mike didnt cause a wreck and he didnt affect the outcome of the race. Good for you mike for racing hard and not just giving up. its too bad that there are drivers that get everything handed too them and decide when something doesnt go exactly his way he gets mad and decides to wreck 2 cars. best of luck to mike tonight. jeremy your an idiot.

Differing opinions which is what a message forum is for... No, Mike did not affect the outcome of the race, but very well could have... But whatever, that one is over... Hope you were in the stands tonite as "the idiot" ,as you put it, gave a severe ass kicking in the main to everyone... Like him or not, the talent is there... Very damn few have ever been able to get through traffic as well as Sherm.... He blew past Charlie and took off without the advantage of any yellows/reds after lap 2. 14th to 1st is damn good no matter who does it...Like him or not, he is the class of the field right now and people pay to come and appreciate the talent while others come in hopes of him getting beat... Either way, he and Charlie are putting butts in the stands and that is good for the sport.. He is on top now, but that will change as it always has... The man honored tonite was one of the best ever, and as I recall, not every fan liked him either....
