Velocity motorsports speed report
6/28/2008 petaluma california
the velocity motorsports team headed to petaluma speedway for a tune up race looking for info for next weeks civil war show at petaluma.
Myles and the chuck cypert lead crew hot lapped the cv fabricators/maclac paints/stud welding products/pacific bolt/mtl manufacturing/kaeding performance center/yak graphics/maxim chassis sprinter,all looked good as the team prepared for qualifying on the fast and hooked up petaluma speedway.
Myles would be the 15th car out and turned a time of 13.02,myles would be 5th quick with fast time being 12.94.
Chuck cypert got the team moving making changes to get ready for the heat race on a track that was slowly getting sticky and hooked up.
Myles started 6th in his ccr prepared maxim chassis,on lap 2 contact was made between myles and dollansky causing both to stop.
Myles would be restarted as dollansky was towed off,at the green myles started his way forward again and would finish 3rd transferring to the main.
The cv fabricators/velocity motorsports team now had a to make some decisions on car changes as the weather cooled off and the track got even heavier and faster,as the pill draw put myles on the outside of the front row for the main.
The velocity team of chuck/brian/jake/cody/steve/moose were all buzzing around the car preparing the maxim chassis with charlie fisher horsepower for its next mission.
The green flag would have myles and jeff parady side by side into turn one with parady getting the line and leading with myles on his bumper as they ran this way for many laps,a fast closing bradley terrell would use a slide job on myles to take 2nd as myles learned from some of the track veterans what lines worked.
Myles proved to be a quick study as he battled back showing the nose of the car to terrel as he stepped it up and took over the lead from parady,with 8 laps to go the top 5 could of been covered with a blanket as the green flag came back out.
Myles followed parady into turn one and picked up a small push as brett rollag got underhim moving myles to 4th where he would finish,the team got a lot of good info as we head into next weeks civil war show.
