USAC's Kevin Miller announced on Rob Klepper's Internet radio program this afternoon, that the CRA series will soon be adding a marketing partner to help out the series and race teams. Miller stopped short of making an official announcement, but promised that something would be breaking soon in the way of news for the USAC/CRA series. When asked if USAC had plans to leave the Perris Auto Speedway next year by an e-mailer, he responded with a solid "No" and that Southern California is very important to the national series because of its rich history and tradition. He also applauded Steve Howard's hard work in putting together a sponsorship package for the Labor Day weekend @ Calistoga. Lots of West Coast news today from Klepper's Indiana based open wheel USAC show. Thought some of you would like to hear this news. Also last week USAC/CRA public relations director Robert Mayson mentioned that Rip Williams may be returning to the famous black #3 this weekend and that son Cody and the Jory team are planning on a new #44 for the young driver.

Planning to leave isn't the same as being invited back. Marketing partner huh? Kind of like that Valvoline deal that was brought on in the beginning? That was a big farce.

New management and new planning are what Mr. Miller was brought in to do. Don't tie him to old failures. Any problems USAC had took decades to develope as we know and are well documented. He and USAC are making gains. They have a marketing firm and access to corporate partners. In a tough market they still have their name.
Miller is doing all of this in the west with CRA having most of the same people as in the past. It takes time to work in new ways and methods. The alternative would be to start over and then eliminate experienced people good or bad. Rebuilding is often more difficult than starting a new series in certain aspects.
USAC does have a recognisable brand. Even though it has been tarnished somewhat there is still tremendous marketing power. Judging from recent posts there are improvements and growth on the horizon in the near future. Give these guys the support and opportunity to succeed.

Hey, I would gladly buy Mr. Fiorito's pizza on a weekly basis if it would help the CRA race teams. Ah, who or what is a Fiorito pizza?
