Last years Midget show had around 60 Midgets, any reason why there shouldn't be abouth the same this year? The Knoxville web site only has 20 sum pre entries.

I notice the Swindell kid has two entered. Does he plan on going through two of them or is he going to let the old man drive one?

Hey Paint...what's going on with any of the roads to the south of WL? Any chance of them being open before Friday morning at this point?

Hwy 22 Closed at Nichols turn off to the Cedar Rv. bridge towards Muscatine (Journal reports entire eastbound lane destroyed) also was well over Hwy 22 at the Iowa river by the Casino

F70 (Otherwise known as Doerghty road goes from Hwy 22 east of Liberty by the turkey farm towards Hwy 38 is GONE North of the Cedar River bride.

Hwy 6 from Liberty to Hwy 38 by Wilton has a 50 ft area where the road is gone and the other lane is all but destroyed

Hwy 70 from Nichols to Junction closed nd likely damaged Serious floodin here still.

Hwy G-28 is still under many feet of water and will be for up to 2 weeks (structural damge expected when it does drop)

Hwy 92 at Junction obviously weeksaway from travel.

We are going to Knoxville this weekend, with the South going crazy now I would imagine we will use I-80 as the did re-open it today, I-280 is open.

Sorry I can't help more, all I can say without a lot of travelling getting from Eastern Muscatine Co to Western Muscatine Co is all but impossible for right now. I am wondering about the Des Moines , Skunk river up towards Central Iowa this weekend.

Good news is Muscatine is cresting tomorrow and there is no rain in the forecast until this weekend. Feeling it for the folks in Keithsburg, Burlinton, Keokuk, Southern Iowa now!!

wtf?

Hey btw Cubfan! How bout them Cubbies! sure has been fun to watch this year. they seem to really have it clicking. best team I have seen them have since I can remember. I was born in 82 ans been watching them hardcore since around 1990. and this is really a strong squad. In the past - if a Soriano like player got injured they were screwed. now asides from Lee and Ramirez - they have solid players like DeRosa, Theriot, Fukodome (game changer there) and Soto. pitching been awesome. who woulda thought Dempster and Marquis and Gallagher would have done this well. when your 3,4,5 pitchers all have winning records - you know you are good. even if we lost a SP for awhile - we still have Lieber and Hill and others who could provide a decent 5 or 6 inning start. Our Cubs sure have a really deep squad this year. well on to Tampa Bay - hopefully can take 2 of 3 there to. Go Cubs Go!!!!

as for the racing. we have reserved a room this weekend in Pella - but honestly won't know if we go until thursday night. everything is ready for a last minute jaunt up there - but my hot water tank exploding earlier today just hurt the wallet pretty bad. but anyhow is the road from I-35 through Indianola into Knoxville ok (92?)? How about the road from Knoxville to Pella that goes through Flagler and over the Lake Red Rock dam? those are the only 2 roads we actually NEED coming up from Oklahoma. I am sorry I do not know the #'s for those roads - but are they ok?

The road across the dam (T-15) is fine as is Hwy. 92 between Indianola and Knoxville. It is Hwy. 92 between Knoxville and Osky that is closed. From KNIA/KRLS (Knoxville radio station)

http://www.ask4direct.com/InfoRead.asp?id=KNIA&InfoID=424488

Recent Road Closures - Monday
Highway 92 between Knoxville and Oskaloosa is closed, according to Brian Keltner with the IDOT. Northbound Highway 5 is closed near Hartford. Also T-17 South of Pella is closed, according to Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat. Highway T-14 at the Marion and Jasper County border is closed. The Marion County Sheriff's office reports that T-25 is closed, as are 216th Place and 218th Place. KNIA/KRLS will bring our more information as it becomes available.

thank you for the info. rain chances are again in the forecast for this weekend - and with knoxville saying if either race rains out it will not be made up in the same weekend - it would be pretty stupid for someone like me on a tight budget to take that chance and potentially waste that kind of money..... - - - I almost couldn't believe it when I was told that - if they really wanted fans to come from a long distance - thats not much of a selling point. if friday rained out and they made it up saturday - or if both friday and saturday rained out to run it sunday - I would do it. but with rain chances hovering over both nights............to pretty much say if it rains YOU ARE SCREWED............I think I'll find something else to do this weekend that doesn;t involve me potentially gettin drilled. i mean if i was 100 miles away or less - I'd do it no doubt cause if it rained out could just drive back home - wouldn't lose as much money. But coming from oklahoma - which means GAS and HOTEL ROOMS (400-500$ total) - yeah I think i am officially done flirting with this idea......

bummer........but i hope it doesn't rain out so that folks up there can see a good show. I hope the extended forecast up there changes too. it doesn't look too good. i hope weather.com is wrong about it.

and since 1934, when else has Knoxville had a race scheduled that did not have a chance of rain in the forecast?

rain is in EVERY weather forecast here in the Midwest, unless it is winter, then it is snow lol.

Thanks Paint. I figured all that stuff. So the only way to get to Muscatine right now from WL would be to take I80 to 38 at Wilton. Is that your assessment?

Saw that Osky to Knoxville on 92 might reopen this week. Anyone know about 92 east of Osky?

Don't take the weather.com forecast as gold. That's a national/international organization that gives weather for EVERYONE. What I'm saying is, it's a general forecast for the region, not necessarily what will happen in one area. If you want to get a better idea of the forecast, check the TV and radio station websites around Knoxville.

I'm looking at a local forecast that says 20% chance early Friday and the rest of the weekend great...I don't know what you're looking at, but it's only Tuesday...

The way the weathermen forecast, heck there is a 20% chance of RAIN when it is -30 degrees out.

hehehehehehe.

I love it when there is a 50-50 chance, that means some Einstien in the weather department has no clue what the weather is going to do, but will be credited with a correct forecast regardless. lol

I love percentages lol

I was told once that there is ALWAYS a 20% chance of rain (or snow) even if there is not a cloud in the sky.

Sprint

Just got photos of Hwy 22 from Liberty to Muscatine - Going to be a long time before traffic is back up and running on that road. Tried to copy / paste but could not do it! Must have to be a paying member to do that!

My latest list has 39 entrants on it. I'm sure there will be 10-15 at the least that don't pre-enter...

Stacy, here is a closure map that gives a pretty good idea of how to get to and from our fair little city. Have

a great day.

Stacy,

Here is a link to all the highways listed by number, etc. I might help. I also emailed you both.
