What happened to all the banjo pickin' WoO bashers now that the NST seems to have gone the way of the USFL?

I hope the NST followers/anti-WOO people are never spotted at a WOO event this year!

Remember when we were going back and forth about the merits of one or the other club and a few of the NST backers implied that they had inside information? They'd say that the NST was going to announce sponsors, TV packages and all kinds of big news within days. I wish I remembered who some of those people are. Then I'd know who is full of bullsh*t and I could ignore them the next time they claimed to have the inside scoop ;-)

I'll pick up the banjo:

The very fact that Fred Brownfield could put together and run a series in less than 3 months shows what deep, deep trouble the WoO and DIRT motorsports had gotten themselves into with promoters, fans and drivers around the country.

The fact that he died before he could see his dream come to full fruition doesn't prove that WoO and DIRT have or had any kind of 'Superior Product', just that the folks with the wherewithal and connections to put together any kind of nationwide deal are few and far between.

How's that grab ya, sport?

Coulda, shoulda, woulda, we'll never know. I could sit here and speculate that it wouldn't have made any difference but I'd be grasping at straws just like everyone else.

One thing for sure is that DIRT had some piss poor leadership and ideads.

The NST forced them into action, perhaps years ahead of schedule.

The NST served a very valuable purpose, and now WoO is where it should have been 20 years ago.

But......many moons later, is the NFL any better now than it was prior to the USFL?

Where's Steve Kinser's biggest fan, PR Rep, un-official mouth piece, attorney.....BigRupturedRear?

I think Kinser knows why the NST is no more, and is all to aware of the timing of its demise.

How's that grab YOU Sport?

Have you talked to Steve Kinser?

Please share what he had to say.

I'm not really sure what the USFL has to do with anything.

wink Lord forgive me for getting the masses worked up.

It's cold up here in Minnesota, the wife is monopolizing the TV and I had nothing better to do. When I'm done downloading my podcasts I promise that I'll go read a book.

Hey 28, a year ago I started printing stats in here with regard to races that had at least 3 drivers from each series in them. I started in Australia and then went to Florida and it was amazing, somewhere around 90% for the Outlaws and it never changed much the rest of the year, deal with it.

Nobby, the NST was started and failed out of anger, plain and simple. Steve was mad that he no longer ran the Outlaws and Fred was mad because his dates were gonna be changed. Failure was inevitable with or without the tragedy of Fred's demise. It was poorly planned and organized albeit due to time perhaps but they had not any momentum and failures (crowds etc) all over the country except for the West Coast who are starved for 410 racing There fan base were west coasters, a few Kinser fans and some clueless people who were not pro NST but anti-Outlaw and we all know who some of them were.

It's done, over, kaput or whatever you want to call it, time to move on to what can easily be the greatest season in World of Outlaws history. 2005 was a great year for them and watching Steve climb out of the car in Victory Lane, exhausted on many a night convinced me theat he is one of the greatest competitors of all time in any sport. I honestly will never forget that year and how much Steve impressed me. I know he has the mind set to do that again this year but I am not sure he has the physical tools needed to finish the job, but I won't be surprised if he does. Take It Easy....
