Racing is expensive these days--tires, fuel, cars, fees, and more turn a hobby into a vicious expense that usually doesn't shake out to a positive in your bank account. With the inception of the IBRA – International BarStool Racing Association, that has changed.

The International BarStool Racing Association was formed in 2006 with the intent to provide racers a chance to win big money in the off season, and at the same time provide fans the opportunity to watch top names in motorsports battle against each other in a family-friendly and entertaining environment. The IBRA, a Minnesota-based company, utilizes the patent pending Rocket Bar Stool in every race and will pay out over $17,000 at each event, most of which are on ice, on a barstool!

What is the catch?

Nothing. Enter online via www.barstoolraces.com or call 320-230-2883 and wait for confirmation of your entry. Each contestant must have a racing background and some credibility, but that is about it. The entry fee is $250.00, and pits will open up at 4:00 p.m. at each event (get there early and sign the driver release). The most important part of this--we provide ALL of the Rocket BarStools to the racers.

Is it dangerous?

Not really. Although we have some thrills and spills throughout the night, it is hardly different than full contact sports. The Rocket BarStools that we utilize have a long, go kart type wheelbase. They can tip, but that is the fun of it.

Do I have to buy a Rocket BarStool?

Not at all! Again, we provide every contestant with a Rocket BarStool built to manufacturer specification. Think the IROC of BarStool Racing. In fact, we even switch the BarStools between heat and main races so drivers do not get the same machine twice in a night.

What is the payout?

Every IBRA race pays $10,000 to win! All of the driver entry fees pay the purse. It breaks down like this: 1st Place $10,000 / 2nd Place $1,000 / 3rd Place $500 / 4th through 20th $250. If you make the A Main, you will make your money back! If you don't make the A or the B through the heats, there is still a $1000 to win last chance race and a $250 to win Toilet Bowl. Every driver gets to race at least twice on each race night.

Schedule of Events?

Pits Open at 4:00 P.M., Doors Open at 6:00 P.M., 6-8 ten lap heat races starting around 7:00 P.M., two 10 Lap B Mains, 20 Lap Non Qualifier, 10 Lap Toilet Bowl, 10 Lap Celebrity Race, and then the finale, a 50 Lap, $10,000 to win the A Main!
