I was impressed Sat. night at BMS with the "Missing Man" formation at the start of the Champ Sprint A Feature in honor of Harold Leep, Jr, what a nice gesture. I'm sure his family would have appreciated it as well if they had been there.
I did not know Mr. Leep or his family but they are in our hearts and prayers.

They also did the Missing Man Salute at SFS Friday night at the start of the Champ Feature. Also the Leep family came to the top of the burm and saluted Jeff as he led the Super Sprint Feature to the start/finish line. I have a picture of it, but I can't seem to get it to post. It should be on www.statefairspeedway.com sometime this week.

Yes, the missing man formation was class. Crowd was standing, quiet and respectful. I've had lousy luck trying to find out how you all post images in this forum so I'll just put the link to a pic I have on Webshots. The pic is low quality (cell phone) but it shows the formation coming out of 4 in front of the stands.

The sprint car people in the pits had their hats off as they came buy on the backstretch. It made me want to cry and I am not an emotional person.

A fitting tribute to a man and his family who mean so much to OKC and Oklahoma racing.

I know we on the North end of the grandstands stood proudly but somber during the three wide. I did notice there were people with their hats off on that end also.
I think I started the "stand up and cheer" when Jeff came out of turn three on the last lap during the heat race. That was totally awesome of everybody in the stands and also those who were in that heat race.

I agree, it was a great tribute and an awesome site to see the cars circle the track in respect. And the crowd responded exactly as they should have.
