After the great response I got from the racing community sending cards to my friend's son at Walter Reed, I thought I would give it a go again.
As many of you know, Parkersburg, Iowa was devastated by an EF-5 tornado on the 25th of May. I have personally been up there a couple of times to volunteer, and it is heartbreaking. The tornado took a path right down main street of this awesome little town. People have been very generous in donating clothing and other items to the cause, but there is still a great need.
On Wednesday, June 4th, I will be driving to Eldora Speedway for the Prelude to the Dream (weather permitting). If you are going to be at the Prelude or close by and you would like to donate items to help out the fine people of Parkersburg, please let me know. We can arrange a meeting point in the parking lot and I will take your no longer needed items (new or gently used) back with me and drop them off.
The big need right now is bedding, towels, and baby items. Toys would be a plus as there are many small children who lost everything into a devastating pile of rubble. Clothing will be accepted as well.
Thank you in advance!
