We are coming over for the race from AZ and I thought I would start a thread to see if we could get an unofficial entry list going. I read on Wags that Kruseman and Sheridan should be there. I thought it would be safe to assume Spencer and Jones will be there since they were last time. Anyone know of any other possible entries?

That's cool to hear that they are running! It's never good to assume anything, but since CRA, VRA, VRA Seniors are not runnig this week, and CRA got 2 shows rained out last week, there could be very healthy and potent car count especially since the first Fass/Gardner Open show was well recieved and how many potential $20 K sprint car shows are there on the West Coast.

There is a Bandit show so don't expect Peter Murphy, but don't assume anything.

Drivers I would like or hope to see but have no idea if they are coming. Maybe somebody could confirm who were not at the first race

Ricky Gaunt

Nic Fass

Troy Rutherford

Johnny Rodriguez, (he spanked them once at Perris this year, could he do it from the rear for $20K)

Matt Mitchell

Charlie Davis

Jermey Sherman

David Cardey

Clark Templeman

Kevin Kierce

Rick Hendricks

Rip Williams (hey his foot/ankle could heal real quick for $20K lol)

Garret Hansen

And USAC National series (Sprints or Midgets or Silver Crown) has no races on this date. Could Jesse Hocket, Casey Shuman, Dave Darland, Cole Whit make a surprise visit for the $4,000 to win, or the Potential $20K winners check.

Besides the Money, this race is about Ego and bragging rights! Lets see what Bromme, Kruseman, Crossno, Alexander, Ford, Priestly, Kittle, Gardner, Mitchell, etc bring to the table and who is man enough to go for the $20K.

Anybody remember when 4 owners anted up $2,500 to run for $10,000 trophy dash at Ascot, with 4 short dashes, winner take all.

If my memory serves me right, Gardner was one of the owners with a guy named Brad driving his car.

Even if none of these drivers come, if should be a great show if you just add Kruseman and Sheridan to what they had to the first show. From what I saw on the video of the race, the action was some of the best of the year.

Matt maybe you could convince some of your local hotshoes to come on up here, just a thought

Don't forget Seth Wilson and Eric Severson were very competitive at the last Victorville race as was Blake Miller.

Nic Faas will be there this time. He missed the last one because of the midget race...same with Hansen. Lukily, no midget or vra race this weekend so we should see several of those guys.

LOL. That would be great if a couple of those national guys showed up. It would make an interesting night even more interesting. Getting rained out this weekend really bummed me out, I was looking forward to that show in Tulare. It's going to be a long week, I can't wait until Saturday night. Probably like many others on this board, I have a feeling the $20K to win from the back is going to bring a lot of big name drivers out.

I was there for the $10,000 round robin trophy dash. As I recall, the trucker "The Strawberry King"(I can't remember his name right now)(Hunt, I remembered it) put up the last $2500. In the Gardner car, Brad Nofzinger wheelied the car all the way down the backstretch from turn 2, and dropped it perfectly into turn 3 to win the 10 grand. In the interview Brad said he was gonna put the 10 grand down on a house for his wife. Prettiest thing I've ever seen done with a sprint car.

Pretty cool hearing about the past, I forgot about Brad putting the down payment. (I think it was JW Hunt the strawberry king, maybe it was for Hewitt or maybe Kaeding, somebody has to remember all 4 drivers and owners. Maybe Pivaroff was one of the other owners.)

I only put drivers that where not at the first race. Jones, Miller, Spencer will be big favorites too along with Hansen, Tyler Brown.

Nobody Mentioned that Casy Shuman won a big Powi midget show a week or so back, I'm sure he will be a contender and I'm glad he is coming out!!!

This was a great post that Matt started, keep the confirmed drivers who are coming and maybe we can have a packed grandstand so the promoters can breakeven in case someone takes the $20K (yeah i know they have insurance for that, but if the stands are full, the pits are full, maybe we can have some more unique open comp races at Victorville this year and in the future (and who knows, maybe Perris will do some creative races that benefit the racers and fans too).

Great to hear Casey is going to be there. He ran at Gas City Friday night and finished third. Flew to AZ, won at Manzy, then flew back and ran Kokomo on Sunday. What a racer. I wish we could get Jeremy or Charlie over there for the race but I have not heard if either one will make it. I do know Shon Deskins will be there.

The only VRA guys that are running this Sat that I know of are maybe Templeman, and I. We are still waiting on the nerf bar issue to see if we can run our normal nerfs, I really dont want to buy new ones for one race. I am also hoping to see a final payout for the top running 360. With all our struggles this year, we are hoping to just have some fun, and do our best against the 410s. I am also supporting this race because I consider Jack Gardner, and Cary Faas good friends of mine. See everyone Sat.

Kruseman Motorsports development driver Henry Clarke will compete along side his mentor Cory Kruseman May 31st at Victorville Auto Raceway. Due to the minimum age requirment, driver Austin Mero is scheduled to travel to Kings Speedway in Hanford to compete with the Bandit 360 sprints.

I think you are correct that John Redican was in that race, but I'm gonna stick with Brad Nofzinger for the win in the one that I saw. I distinctly remember him saying that his wife had been putting up with him racing for 10 years and she was finally going to get the house he promised her. You could hear her hoot throughout the stands. Maybe someone else that was there could clarify this for us.

Also, jdfast, I think you are correct that Jack Hewitt was driving for J.W. Hunt in that one.

Don't remember the $10,000 trophy dash, but I do remember the 1984 $2,000 "Top Eliminator" race.
They had a drag racing format. Sixteen cars ran four rounds. Each round was two out of
three between two cars. Brad Noffsinger won the thing

In 1989 -90 ish era,.......Kathy Simpson, Andy Morales, Frank Lewis, and Gardner (I think this is correct) put up 2,500 thus the 10,000 to win... Each owner had to run a car that was not going to be run that night so everyone used their backup cars and John Redican won all four races of 3 laps each from every position inside front row, outside front row, inside row 2 and outside row 2 and took the 10,000 with ease,..... my parents used to babysit brad who was a hell of a driver also....................................SHOOTER.......................................................... but hey how many of those races did they hold .....lol........ I remember brad winning alot of ish back in those days... but the one quote from him I will never forget is when I asked how the Nascar thingy was going, he stated,"I am really fast, But I keep pitching it sideways on the asphalt" lol Classic I wish He would come out and Run Vville this weekend same with john rumor has it "The Boy Is Back In Town"

They should take Gil "leadfoot" Mahoney from the senior division with them. He definitely is over the minimum age and is having a great sophomore year in one of Cory's cars.

The year was 1986 J.W. Hunt entered Brent Keading and Jack Hewitt. Frank Lewis entered Brad Noffsinger (gardner #96) and Mike Sweeny (DSD computer store) #91. Keading had it in the bag, until he bicycled coming through turns 3 and 4, Noffsinger got by him and won it all. Jac Haudenchild won the 40 lap main that night, driving for Bob Miller,in the Los Gatos body shop Gambler#69. thanks for playing.
