ATTENTION: To All Teams Competing In Next Saturday's Open Sprint Car Show at Victorville Auto Raceway (May 31st.)
The Fairgrounds Management Has Mandated That All Crew Members and Drivers That Ride ATVs (Quads, Three Wheelers, etc.) On The Property (Pits, Track, etc.) Must Wear A Helmet While In Operation- NO EXCEPTIONS.
This Mandate Also Extends To Any Teams That Will Compete With The Victorville, CA Sprint Cars For A Regular Program.

Now this is a little crazy! - you don't need to wear a helmet in Callifornia when riding a Harley on I-15, but must when riding a 10 mph quad in the pits.
While I can understand the safety and insurance aspect of this mandate, I think that a quad speed limit of 5 MPH would be just as safe and just as easy to enforce.
So my question is, will there be enough push trucks in the pits, at the cars, to help get them to staging? Not everyone car park their race car at the track opening.....

As Chuck said, this is crazy! Maybe the fairgrounds management would prefer that some just stay home . Talk about being law suit skittish...ACK!
Wonder if they will soon require all officials to wear a fire retardant suit too???

This looks like a kneejerk reaction by the fairgrounds manager, but we brought it on ourselves.Crewmembers regularly were hot rodding on pushers last year and the track operator seemed unable to stop it ,so now OVERKILL.It doesn't say S.F.I or DOT approved so grab a whatever helmet you got laying around and deal with it.After all Perris and Ventura are always threatening to take the pushers away from us for the same abususes so it's not suprising.By the way Fire retardent suits on track safty crew members is a sound idea, check out Perris's safty team next time your at their track..top notch..and suited up
