it seems idiotic. I dont see one reason to do it. one cant say its because of when drivers can make it - actually there is no viable reason for it.
and here's why - last year and in years past SFS had their WN in the first weekend in october - right after lawton - I-44 would run when SFS would run. THIS YEAR - Lanny has pushed his Winter Nationals back a week at all 3 tracks. and what do you know - I-44 moves theirs back a week as well to run against SFS.
Is the I-44 promoter smoking crack. last I checked he needs all the cars AND fans he can get. if he ran the weekend before he could potentially get quite a few more fans - maybe a lot more. I mean - not a lot of SFS folk are gonna waste a trip to go to lawton if I-44 and the ASCS2 cars are runnin that weekend. And why the hell is ASCS2 supporting this? Their presence is a HUGE plus for the program as they put on some great racin..................
I just dont understand why they would intentionally run against SFS - like the 2 winter nationals are even comparable. but at the same time I mention this b/c I'd really like to see the ascs2 cars at I-44 in the fall - but I sure as hell aint gonna miss some bad ass big sprint car racing to see it. Screw it - guess if I want to see em I'll just go to Fort Cobb................to any I-44 fans and supporters my bad I aint tryin to make anyone mad - - - but even from the sidelines - thats stupid as hell for them to try and race on top of SFS Winter Nationals.

I think that ASCS2 cancelled all their shows at I-44. I-44 has one of the nicest facilities around. I-44 just needs a decent promotor

As of two weeks ago ASCS2 is scheduled for Oct 11-12 @ i-44,unless that has changed since then, that is what I was told by Patti.

yeah thats the bullshit I was talkin about - why run straight up AGAINST SFS?
if he ran the week before or after they would have more fans in the stands - especially if properly promoted. I guess thats a stretch though. My thoughts been made clear in like 3 or 4 other posts...............wont repeat them all again. just think its an incredible bad idea for a nice track and facitlity like I-44 - as well as OKC area race fans................for I-44 to run against SFS.
for those thinkin it aint intentional - I-44 ran against SFS last year - this year Lanny moved the SFS Winter Nationals back a week -------- and so did the guy who runs I-44. Even if I-44 promoter doesn't get it ---------- I'm sure the ascs2 folks do. ASCS2 is the difference between I-44 being a good show - or it being average to poor without em.

Last year I-44's winternationals were the same weekend as the devils bowl winternationals. I skipped the I-44 race and went to devils bowl dropping me from second to fourth in points. I really dont think i-44 is intentionally going against the fairgrounds. Honestly 90% of the people at I-44 including the staff couldnt name 5 sprintcar drivers at the fairgrounds. I dont think they really care about the fairgrounds or their winter nationals.

If they know of the Jennings that number of 5 sprintcar drivers should increase to about 15.Everyone in that family drives one. They're like roaches in a bad house, they are everywhere.

Yea, its a great series and puts on a great show. I had a blast year running the entire series switching between multi and nonwing. I think they are at claremore june 21 and creek county june 22 for their next two races. I recommend going and watching to everyone. Its a good show!
