Tempers seem to be flaring as do to the rain out last night, Williams Grove moved their Outlaw show to tonight, running directly against Lincoln and Port Royal Speedways. It's just a choice for fans to make. Race teams are the ones who are really being penalized however. Not only will they not be able to gain any points at Lincoln or Port tonight, they will also be penalized the next two weeks per the rulebook... "A driver who misses a race at Lincoln to attempt to compete in another race, upon his return and for a two-week period, will be handicapped to the rear of his heat and the back positions of the feature." In all reality, a guy like Rahmer has to start 12th every week anyway, so having to start 13th isn't much of a difference. Losing out on up to 250 points tonight is what will really hurt.

But then he'd have to lose out on up to 300 points at the Grove should he choose to skip it. The Grove has a much better purse tonight and a bigger point fund. Not sure Rahmer really has to think about it too hard.

Or the teams that choose to run WG can just stay away from Lincoln on a permanent basis to protest this rather dumb rule....just what exactly is accomplished by this rule, anyway?
Looks like it almost "forces" teams to choose to run Lincoln, and penalizes those that cannot make weekly appearances - whatever the reason....

All the big dogs get penalized for going to Knoxville every year anyway so it's nothing new for the top teams who race for the $$ and the glory. IMO Lincoln and Port have nothing to bitch about. Either track could have booked the outlaws for Saturday and the problem would have never came up.

This was true until last year, now Lincoln only gives appearance points during the Nationals weekend, so the penalty is small. I think what you'll see is the lower budget teams that planned on running with the Outlaws going to Lincoln instead, since making the show there will still pay more than not making it at the Grove. Lincoln's crowd will be hurt some, but maybe not as much as some may think, since many local fans refuse to pay $30 to watch the Outlaws anyway. The list of Lincoln regulars that were not at the Grove Thursday looks like this: 10N-Young, 17E-Eash, 22Z-Carber, 38N-Schlauch, 47J-Busby, 59-Siegel, 25o-Ott, 4-Rudisill, 12-Bittinger, 26-Cooper, 6W-Wells, 20-Taylor, 5-Lawrence, 49-Howard, and X-Weaver. I know Bittinger posted on Lincoln's website this morning about borrowing a motor to run tonight, so that is a long shot. I also heard that Pat Cooper is out of town. The 5,49, and X have only raced a few shows this year so they are question marks. I wouldn't be surprised though to see the 11C-Haas, 45-Michael, 3W-Westbrook, and maybe even the 9-Keel to show up at Lincoln instead of the Grov, maybe more. I still think the 21, 71, 30, 51, and 89 will be in Dillsburg this evening.

It used to be Lincoln, Port and Selinsgrove for sprints on a Saturday night. Nobody B and Md, you went wherever you liked. The only track was WG that had all the drivers on a Friday or Sunday. Thats why you see all the wins at different tracks with some of the older drivers. You want to race for $12000, be on TV or $3000 and get a few points. Mother may have something to say till tonight is over anyway for some of the tracks.

Points....what is a point?
You could win over twice what the Lincoln Championship pays tonight at the Grove.
If I wasn't working, I would have been at the Grove. Go where you want & quitcher bitchin! You can't expect these guys to tow across the country & not have a chance at a raindate.
The "future of 410 racing", Mr. Cannon appears to have been headed to Selinsgrove for the $3,500 to win & $225 to start 360/358 challenge show.

So - to the coolest Posse Fans on here - where are ya'll goin? Single File - I'm referring to you. actually I'm asking this to everyone except the neo nazi (brr). will there be any concessions made by any of the tracks up there - so that it wont screw the drivers. I think the guys runnin for points at those other tracks should just go run their weekly show. The circus only comes through a couple times a year - screw em. You run for points for the whole season. you girls always find something to bitch about. no body is forcing anyone to race at any particular place are they? you guys bragg about having so much racing in a relitivly small area then bitch cause it is too much. in your neck of the woods you have been lucky to get a race in this year, now you bitch there are too many. out here in cali woo tickets are closer to 50 bucks that 30, so qwitchyerbichin. i hear on here all the time from those in your area that the woo suck, that their shows suck and that they are not worth the price and that you would gladly pay less money to see better racing on a normal local race nite. seems to me the desicion on where the fan would have gone should have been a no brainer.

Doubly sucks for Lincoln regulars who had to run the Grove and lost out on points last night.

With what Lincoln and Port pay for points you did see where the best drivers went last night. With some little kids posting you can see who are sprint car fans and who just like to bitch. The car owners make the choice where to race, not little kids on racing forums. Next week they will be doing TT anyway for the Keystone. So the following week they are back for reg racing. Not that it really matters.

The WOO races at the Grove count for regular track points too and the point fund is much better at WG than Lincoln or Port. I went to Selinsgrove and also got rained out.

Who pissed in your Wheaties...lol. Going to Knoxville alone has almost cost Rahmer point championships in years past, much less missing more than one night. I'll agree there's not so much of a foul this time, since he's still going to win both the Williams Grove and Lincoln Championships this year regardless, especially since the rest of the front runners also had to sit in the rain at the Grove. The Grove was lucky if they had 2000 people show up to watch the circus, they were probably doing a little rain dance themselves. Lincoln however only stands to make out by being able to bill double features for June 7th. The Outlaws turn out to be a losing proposition yet again on Thursday nights or when inclement weather is in the area. No wonder Lincoln hasn't bothered to cater to them in years.

If you werea car owner or driver what would you rather race for? 3 grand or 12 grand ; also Lincoln track title pays maybe 5 grand and groves pays 15 grand !! also grove has more press there and history than a reg. show at either lincoln or port !!! jmo

The Outlaws more than make up for poor crowds on Thursdays and inclement weather days during July and September when they have good weather. The Grove makes a ridiculous amount of money during the Open. Money I am sure Lincoln would love to earn if they had the facilities in place to hold a race such as the National Open.
In addition, people are acting as if Lincoln is just prestigious as the Grove. Sorry guys. Winning the Grove point title pays more and means more.

Port Royal called their show and they had a lot less to lose? And even that didn't help out the Grove. They lost money. The racers lost money. Evidently a lot of people could see it coming judging by attendance? Maybe next time they will reconsider their options when they go up against the rest of our tracks with rain in the forecast? Todd Fisher didn't seem to have any trouble calling a rain out for his NST show at lunch time.....even with the sun shining...lol.

Double features for Lincoln on June 7th?
It'll be more like watching 15 cars run a 19 lap consi prior to an actual race!

One fan's consi is another's chance to see a low buck racer get a shot at $3000 or maybe even a first win... while the big dogs are forced to watch from their trailers...lol.
