A Different Kind Of 'Thunder' forecast Saturday night at Cowtown Speedway

5/14/08. Kennedale, TX, by DarinShort.com.

The roar of the thunder from this week's storms will quickly be replaced by sunny skies for the weekend – but the roar will remain – as the ASCS Sprint Cars take to the high banks of Cowtown Speedway on Saturday night, May 17.

With much of the country experiencing dismal racing conditions for much of 2008, the area around Cowtown Speedway has fared very well at this point; as the storms have been hitting during the week and generally sparing the weekends.

The last ASCS event at Cowtown provided fans with wild action and a huge field of cars from throughout the region. Sprint car ace Travis Rilat picked up the victory, with Oklahoma standout Brian McClelland finishing in second.

And with both the ASCS Gulf Coast and National Tour schedules being dark this weekend; it is quite possible that some of their tour 'invaders' may show up to steal the victory from Series drivers such as George White, Rodney Henderson, Michael Lang, Kolt Walker, Kevin Ramey and a host of many others.

One thing is certain: when the ASCS Sprint Cars come to Cowtown Speedway, you are guaranteed to get your money's worth. Adult tickets are still just $15, and advance tickets can be purchased on the track website, www.CowtownSpeedway.com – and there is no convenience charge to use your credit card for online purchase.

Joining the ASCS division will be the Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks, Bombers, Jr. Bombers plus the Winged 600's.

With hot laps around 6:30pm and the first green flag scheduled to drop at 7pm; make your plans now to be a part of the action at the Fastest Lil' Dirt Track In Texas – Cowtown Speedway, in Kennedale.

Smile

Last night I counted 33 ASCS sprints in the pits at Boyd last (including some national tour drivers), so my guess is that you can expect around 36-42 tonight at Cowtown.

It's supposed to be great weather, so hope to see you all there for another great ASCS event!

(Just remember to set your TIVO or VCR before you come, so you can watch the All Star race when you get home!)
