I plan on taking a couple hours of vacation on Friday and heading down
to La Crosse weather permitting. You can save yourself a case of carpal tunnel
and skip the tar is for getting there comments. If anyone used to watch
the Thursday Night Thunder series from IRP on ESPN they know
that Midgets on a big half mile (bordering on 5/8) is not for the faint of heart. I thought I'd check out
something different for a change and get some shots for racing paper.
Friday, May 16th La Crosse
Speedway invites the USAC Midgets and
the Mid-American Stock Cars for a
special night of racing.

Midgets are awesome, no matter the surface! I don't know anything about the track at LaCrosse, but I'm sure they'll be fast and twitchy - or pretty awesome! If I lived up your way, I would try to catch them at Slinger the next night too if possible. Those guys are probably going to fly around there too...

Stan, I don't blame you at all, if I lived within 200 miles of Lacrosse I would go, and if I lived within 300 miles of Slinger I would go to that too- Slinger should be awesome!

They also have a USAC show at Rockfords little quarter mile high bank paved track on Sunday afternoon and then Badger has their first show an hour up the road Sunday nite. Four races in three days!

I'm going to head up to Cedar Lake on Saturday for their opener. Maybe the seventh try will be the charm.

Eighth try. First weekend was supposed to be a Double Header.
I might try Slinger. I've seen Midgets at IRP & on the Milwaukee Mile. Rockford might be worth the trip. The track is real similar to Anderson.

I meant seventh weekend and wasn't counting the actual number of nights of racing. You had to get the jump on somebody after you missed that same detail over on the 40 didn't ya.
You missed a good night of racing last Friday. We drove by your work and saw your truck without the wheeler so we knew you weren't going to make it. That was one of the best nights of Sprint Car racing I've seen in a long time.

Actually I didn't miss anything on the 40. That discussion was about how many rainouts they've had. This was about next weekend.
If I go anywhere, it will probably be Arlington. I really should stay home and save money for my Indy trip the following week!
