Only about 40 miles down the river for me but the wife was working and I didn't want to take our 3 year old out in the cold so I decided against it. Now the only races I get to see this weekend are the last 10 laps of Darlington if I remember to turn it back on

Don't feel too bad Paintboss... several folks made the smae mistake of not going. Looked like plenty of room over in the grandstands.
Oh... it was an awesome show too!

Count me in as regretting that I didn't go to Burlington. Had an Ohio weekend planned (Attica/Fremont), but of course more rain ruined those plans.
Ironically, early Friday morning Burlington had a 40% chance of rain while Attica had a 30% chance of rain that night, per the Weather Channel.
Go figure.

You might better start going with your instincts and travel too those shows cause the way it is going you will not be going to the races this summer because gas prices won't justify making any of those trips.

AGAIN i want to thank Amy and Jeff Laue at 34 raceways for giving many fans a true reason to go to your local dirt track. There were thousands of racing fans that miss the best race of the weekend.
The track was awesome and had a great showing of the some of the best along with locals. This show was well worth the trip .
One more thing everyone should concider the Sprint Invader series coming up and long with the Vintage cars on 5/25.
Heartland Harley Davidson/Buell of Burlington will be hosting the Sprint Invaders car show on Friday night before our Sunday race at Burlington’s 34 Raceway (5/25). Hours are 6-9 pm

I missed it too! Stupid move on my part. Now I'm playing phone tag trying to get tickets for the WoO show. They keep calling back after I'm at work even though I keep leaving messages saying to call before 2:30pm cause I work 2nd shift. Sure hope we get together on this as I have thought for years 34 would be a great place for a WoO show.

I would think that WoO show would completely sell out, expecially after the IRA / Knoxville preview from last week. The Outlaws would be an absolute spectacle to see in that facility. Trying to remember the date of the race though? Seems like it was the day before the 360 Nationals at Knoxville kick off.

Yup... July 30th. After a few months of back and forth planning, that was the only date that would fit the WoO and 34.

Well I made a smart move by going to Haubstadt instead of Paducah on Sat.

I made a smart move too last weekend. I went to Jacksonville Illinois after all the tracks here in Indiana rained out. Made 3 weeks in a row I have done that, with one rainout, and 2 races in the 3 weeks. Was gonna go to Bloomington for the USAC race till it got cancelled, then thought about Gas City too. Bloomington is 60 miles from home, and Gas City is about 70 or so. Jacksonville is 250 miles.
Then I thought going to Jacksonville wasnt so bad, cause I was gonna go watch POWRi Midgets Sat night at the very racy 1/5 mile Belle Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois, just down the road a hundred or so miles. Got down there Sat. and kept looking at the weather which wasnt looking good at all for later in the evening. Got 2 phone calls from Indiana based midget teams/ crewmembers while I was in Belleville looking for weather updates. Finally decided that Haubstadt was looking a lot better than Belleville was weatherwise. So I headed over there, driving the hundred and change miles to get there. Then its another 150 from there back to Indy.
Yeah I did the smart thing too. Wallet is a bit thinner, and to add insult to my thinner wallet, Daron Clayton had mechanical failure at Haubstadt while leading. At least I got thrilled by his take no prisoners driving for a few laps anyways........
With Kokomo raining out on Sunday,it was a low mileage weekend. The last 3 weekends have been 1000, 850, and just over 700 miles last weekend. Time for another oil change already!

It was a great race, I don't know for some reason I didn't get out to too many races last year! But this race was totally freakin awesome, it was the best race I had seen at 34 in a long long time!!!! And I am soooooooo glad that Pittman won, I would've not been very Happy if Lasoski would have won!
