As per 34Raceway.com: Thurs. 5/8 RUMOR HAS IT!!! Terry McCarl, Darren Pitman & Danny Lasoski will be racing at 34 Raceway tomorrow night!!! Stay Tuned to our website for further updates on your WoO stars that will attend the IRA 410 Outlaw Sprint Series race on Friday night, May 9 !!!! So, this must mean they've canned the WoO race at Tri-City? I can't see these guys skipping WoO points to run IRA at 34.

I don't think that Danny Lasoski was going to Tri-City anyway, rumor has him running Knoxville on Saturday so he was planning on going to 34 no matter what. Don't get too worked up Maxi.

What is the basis for these "rumors"?

I've seen nothing indicating the Tri City race is happening. I guess it COULD get canceled with a 50% chance of rain during the day on Friday and flood advisories in the area, but I wouldn't expect it to be cancelled until the promoter and WoO see what the weather brings.

The WoO had publicity out quoting Lasoski on how much he enjoys Tri City and about his past success and legions of fans and his long standing friendship with the Gundakers. Why would he pass up a chance to win $10k on Friday for a chance to win $3k at Burlington? Why would McCarl, who has a hand in the promotion for the July WoO race at Burlington, pass up the WoO show to race for half the price of the WoO show ticket vs. the IRA? Talk about setting a lower value for selling tickets.

I just think these "rumors" are totally irresponsible. The track website should not be posting such things when there is no basis of truth or logic to them.

I'd bet good money on stating that all three drivers mentioned will be in Granite City. If that race doesn't happen, only THEN should there be talk of them showing up elesewhere.

I read the website. it says RUMOR has it that these guys will be there. Rumor has it that Steve Kinser is going to be here at Attica tomorrow night also!

Ummm, even if Tri-City does get rained out, they cannot race Friday at 34 because they do have a race the night after at Paducah... yah, that 48 hour/250 mile rule probably does apply there.

I called Granite City track office late Thursday evening and said they were going to race. 34 Raceway is getting dumped on right now as I type this, so the chances of them even racing is iffy.

I live in Springfield, Il. and I just looked at the radar.....looks to me like Tri-City has a much better chance of getting the show in, I have seen nothing about Tri-City cancelling. Surely this wasn't a ploy by 34 to draw fans away from Tri-City? Rumor has it Gary Bettenhausen, Larry Dickson and A.J Foyt are running little Springfield tonight......whoops I forgot its a Walgreens, Starbucks, and a various assortment of businesses now....Oh well maybe they will come anyway.

According to posts on STLRacing.com the World of Outlaws trailer is at Tri-City and water is being pumped from the track area. They are planning on racing tonight. Hope the weather does not prevent it.

Its about 350-400 miles from Burlington to Paducah, so no, the 250/48 rule would not apply. However I believe the info posted on the website could cost them points if it is true and they did run. I consider what they posted as pre-media advertising.

Any World of Outlaws Platinum or Gold Member driver or car running a non-sanctioned 410 Winged Sprint Car event within a 48 hour period and a 250 mile radius of a sanctioned event will be deducted 250 points per infraction from the current point standings. Prior WoO written consent will not be unreasonably withheld.

If a World of Outlaws Platinum or Gold Member races a nonsanctioned 410 Winged Sprint Car race within 48-hours of a WoO event, the race must NOT be within 250 miles of the World of Outlaw event. The competitor’s name must not be included in any pre media or advertising. 250 point deduction.

Tri City is cancelled today and rescheduled to June 8th, as the area is soaked and it is still raining.

maybe the rumored drivers (who simply want to race rather than sit in a hotel room) are not Gold or Platinum Members and this does not apply? or maybe the points are not worth worrying about at this point?

rumor has it that the WoO might actually race a few more times this year...this rumor could be considered irresponsible...but then again it might actually be TRUE!

It's over 250 to Paducah, no doubt, so I don't think pre-race hype would apply, but there will be a handful of those guys at 34 and I look forward to seeing them (I won't mention any by name just in case). The precipitation is really dissipating quickly. Should be a great night of racing!

This looks like its getting interesting. The WoO pulls the plug and 34 is racing. I can't wait.

Regardless of who shows up to 34 it should be an awesome night, 410s at this track are way cool !

Here's hoping for 40+ cars tonight.

Daryn and Terry were never advertised for the 34 race. Amy put "rumor has it", that is not being advertised. She has since taken their names off of her website. The WoO have rules to protect their promoters and we are all for it. Unfortunately Granite City is postponed and Paducah is over 250 miles from Burlington. You never know who you might see there tonight.
