They will make him quite an offer before he "commits suicide". wink, wink

Congress has invited him to make a demostration in DC. Surely he's up on all this.

I had seen that clip somewhere before but couldn't remember where. Thanks for posting. I just hope he doesn't end up like the DC Madam.

I did a project on this in college 4 years ago. The only thing holding back the idea at the time was that nuclear energy was the only cost effective way to carry out electrolysis. If someone can invent a better way, it would certainly be ground breaking. I don't care if water does go to $5 a gallon, if it only takes 4oz to go a 100 miles (maybe double that for my car that way I drive it) I'll have no problem sitting the bucket out for the next storm!

I agree, Until we find a safe efficient, greener cost effective way to produce electricity this technology is not going to be any cheaper than gasoline.

His idea isn't new in fact it's rather old technology, He may have refined it in some ways but extracting hydrogen from water has been around a long time.

There is a man who runs his whole house from solar and wind power and runs his cars on hydrogen produced on-site he even produces enough that he sells the extra power to the electric company....but it cost him a half million dollars to build his backyard power-plant.

I think the real breakthrough will be solar energy, The amount of energy in a days worth of sunlight in your own yard if you could harness it should be more than enough for one persons needs.

HHO Generators are nothing new. The problem is getting more energy then you consume to get it.
I built a HHO generator from some plans and I am working on building a heater.
If anyone is interested in HHO go to http://www.youtube.com and do a search for hho or hydrogen or free energy. Here is a video that could be interesting if it works.

if water goes to 5 bucks a gallon you may have to be sitting in that bucket you put out in the storm...to bathe.

A safe efficient, greener cost effective way to produce electricity ??? ---- which rock have you been under ?? Some day this country will wise up and start building nuclear power plants to satisfy our needs and do away with our polluting coal and natural gas plants.

You need to look at what other countries around the world are doing. France for example gets nearly 90% of their power from nuclear plants that were designed in America. England, Germany, and Japan also are big users of nuclear power plants. India and China plan to have 50 nuclear plants on line in the next 10 years.

Solar power is way too expensive for what you get out of them and requires a lot maintenance as do all these wind turbines the tree huggers think are so great.

I suggest you read up and get informed and be supportive of nuclear power.

This looks like some hope for the future, BUT if they continue to build all these ethanol plants water will be up to $5 a gallon. I read some where that in these ethanol plants it takes 8 gallons of water to make 1 gallon of fuel?

Ha, that was my EXACT argument in college. The only way to do it cost effectively right now is through nuclear power, but my professor argued against me that it won't happen due to American's fear of nuclear power. I agreed he was probably right, but no other technology currently exists that requires less energy to perform eletrolysis than the end amount of usable hydrogen.

Nuclear power is great but U-235 is also a very scarce commodity and of course we need it for bombs.
