Velocity motorsports report
5/3/2008 placerville-civil war
the velocity motorsports team headed to placerville speedway for round number 3 in the civil war series.
Myles would go out to qualify 20th of 39 cars on a very fast track,quick time was andy forsberg with a time of 10.507 and myles would end up being 14th quick with a time of 10.799.
The velocity team lead by chuck cypert went to work preping the car and making changes to adjust to the quickly changeing track conditions.
Myles next mission was the heat race where he finished 2nd ahead of past winner colby weisz,which put myles into the a-main.
Well as luck would have it myles ended up the 10th car in the main event inversion after heat races,he was selected to draw the main event inversion pill which sets the first 2-5 rows depending on the number that is drawn.
Myles needed to draw the 10 pill which would invert the first 10 cars and put myles on the pole for the main,well myles has not had much luck with the numbers and would draw the 6 pill which inverted the first 6 cars and myles would start the main 14th.
The velocity team took the unlucky draw in stride and went to work getting ready to race on what was now a quickly drying track due to so many cars and laps being run and a warm day.
Tonight would prove to be a learning experience for myles as the grenn flag flew myles advanced several spots and was working his way forward when he jumped the fine line of a cushion in turns 1-2 and cam back onto the track in 16th position,myles would continue to hustle and pass cars again working forward when disaster struck and myles spun low in turn and stopped.
Myles got the velocity motorsports/maclac paints/stud welding products/mtl manufacturing/pacific bolt/escalon body and paint/kaeding performance/yak graphics maxim refired and would again work his way forward with laps quickly winding down time ran out on his run forward and myles ended his night 13th position.
