Thought I'd try a little report, bringing it back from the dead and its gonna be like the BRR Report
(Please try not to take things too serious in the Report)

410s (27 cars)

WoO Welcome Mat
McCarl (24), Hafertepe Jr. (15), and the young gun Lucas Wolfe (5w)

Say Hello to These Old Friends
Billy Alley (22), Justin Henderson (D1), Clint Garner (40), Lynton Jeffrey (12), & Chad Meyer (1w) all back in weekly action

MIA
Dusty Zomer, Bill Boles, Robert Bell

Time Trials (1 lap each)
Hafertepe blistered everyone else with a 10.767 lap, Henderson had issues in regular spot, then came out last to score 2nd with a 10.935. Only guys to break 11 seconds; rest of the order thru 15th: Schliemann (4), Wolfe, Lambertz (12L), Bakker (11x), Peters (57x), DeWall (16), Garner, McCarl, Cressman (56), Nygaard (9N), Jones (9M), Alley, & Runge (28). Defending track champ Mark Dobmeier (13) 18th.

Time Trial Grade: A+ since they have finally returned to the format

Heats (Top 6 inverted, Top 6 to the A with the Top 4 making the A Invert)
Heats were pretty damn single file, not much for passing.
Jones, McCarl, Lutz (1), Henderson, Peters, & Wolfe transfer from Heat 1
Alley, Dobmeier, DeWall, Hafertepe, Lambertz, & Winters (23w) transfer from Heat 2
Runge, Garner, Nygaard, Meyer, Schliemann, & Bakker outta Heat 3.

Heat Grade: D- with the single file affairs

B Feature (Top 2 tag the A)
Jeffrey checked out from the pole, Vogelaar (33) was in 2nd most of the race until Cressman passed him with about 2 to go. Cressman came to a slow crawl on the last lap, losing the final transfer back to Vogelaar.

B Feature Grade: B- not much for passing but did have that excitement

A Feature (25 laps)
Starting Order: 9M 9N 24 40 16 28 22 13 1 1W D1 12L 57X 5W 4 11X 23W 33 12 15 (DNS)

Initial Start: Jones does a triple wheelie (yes, triple) down the frontstretch, sends McCarl to make evasive actions and McCarl spins out without any assistance in Turn 1. The yellow waved before McCarl's spin for a false start, but T-Mac sent to the back for stopping on the track.
McCarl would later dump it a few laps later in Turn 4 as he hit the Super Rut/Canyon that had developed during the 360 feature. The SR/C would claim another victim on the last lap and almost claimed a few other throughout the race.
Garner checked out on the start with Nygaard in tow and Jones holding strong in 3rd. Wolfe was up to 8th or so after a few laps when the McCarl red came out. Bakker was also coming with Wolfe. Under the red, Alley changed nose wings and was sent to the tail for not getting it done in time and did the smart thing by pulled in a few laps later on a heavy track.
Good battle started to develop upfront with Garner and Nygaard with the latter taking a lead temporarily in 1&2, but Garner dove back by him. Bakker up to 4th with Wolfe behind him in 5th, they'd both get by Jones and really needed a caution to stack the field back up, but it never came.
Nygaard caught Garner at the white flag and was going for the slide in 3&4, he hit the Super Rut/Canyon and took a violent flip coming to the checkers. The race was called as "the checkers were in the air," and Garner took the $2500 victory.

Finish: 40 11x 5w 9M D1 28 57x 13 23w 1w 16 4 1 9N (DNF) 12 33 22 24 12L 15 (DNS)

A Feature Grade: B-. Good racing, track was fast but a little narrow, the SR/C ruined a great low line through 3 and 4.

FOAW: Don't know how you can really give it to him as he's an Outlaw, but Wolfe looked like he had raced the track for years even though it was his first race.... very impressive

VIP: Saw a few fellow Hosers in the area, Wertz was MIA though.

WTF: The afformentioned Super Rut/Canyon

WTF 2: Nygaard going for the win in the last lap and a photo finish on the way, until the SR/C decided otherwise.

Are you Serious?: 1 tow truck to clean up the spills in the 360 and 410 feature and it was like watching paint dry. Unacceptable at the "Home of the Professionals."

Head Scratcher: Dobmeier timing in at 18th, letting Alley take him at the start in the heat, and not doing a whole helluva lot in the A. I know it was the first night out, but I was expecting a little more from the defending champ.

Hope you enjoyed the Report and maybe it will continue in the future.

Thanks for the report and the report card scoring. Keep em coming. I noticed the 3 360 heat winners were also 1-2-3 in the feature. Is that where they started?

Sorry Big J I went to Iron Man the movie instead. I will have to be really bored this summer before making the trip to Huset's again.

And as in many times throughout the racing season, you can get the full results, plus a video of about the entire A-feature at KeloLand.com - here's the exact link:

http://www.keloland.com/sports/NewsDetail7981.cfm?Id=0,69126

Once again, THANK YOU to KeloLand.com for providing this service; as there are people like me that really miss the action of Huset's and can't get up there very often.

Also congrats to sam15.com for setting fast time last night, haven't heard from them as to why they were a DNS in the feature.

Although Hafertepe finished the heat, engine failure ended his night. Broken rod from what I understand.

Did anyone see the tow truck guy swing wide with T-macs car and it hit the #4 car breaking a wing support. One tow truck is terrible!

At the home of the "Professionals" alot was lacking on the promoters part. One lap for time trials, really,,,,,, scoreboard never worked the whole night, how many laps were run in the feature. secret time trials??????? Line ups were all screwed up,,,,,,,one wrecker....get a clue....can't be giving out to many pit passes (tight asses).....craters everywhere,,,,,,,changing the tire rules for the 360's days before the race.......Hapertpe was told he didn't have time to change an engine.....All the winners came off the outside pole position......As you can tell I'm a little bitter at Huset's lately. Rate the races a solid C-, track D-. I guess I'm getting sick of getting Rubenized every frick'n week, its about time to take sundays off.

Well, Dude wasn't there and managed to save Husets fans another Wertz sighting.

Opening night doesn't always go that well, especially after major rains leading up to it. That was the main concern last week in postponing K'ville, the track wasn't quite ready. Noone wants a shitty track on opening night and risk first timers never coming back. But, everyone would've bitched if they called it again. Damned if you do,.......

Is someone forcing you to go? If you don't like it stay home. Pretty simple.

If you don't like it, don't read it. I personally appreciate reading the results, and especially seeing the KELO replay of the race... I wish I still lived there to see the races in person, but making money takes a higher priority... just be lucky you have sprint cars to watch AT ALL and not be stuck with mods and late models as the big show.

According to McCarl if it is over 250 miles the 48 hour deal is out the window. Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure that is what he said.

You must be a Rubin, why do you think the crowd was down already for the first race of the year. You can only screw the fans for so long, you just stay in the stands and swill your $4 beers. Ask yourself why so many life long fans have said enough with the Rube's and are staying home.

As for the track, i don't feel track prep was the problem, theres soft spots and frost heaves all over due to the weather we've had this spring, our lots at my work are the worst they've been for 11 years, but Husets could have & SHOULD have at the very least thrown chalk out to bring it to the drivers attention. The fans in the stans count usaully is down til school is out for summer, have to waite and see if they get anymore at the gate.
