I have lost all of my e-mail contacts Dwane. Has the name Mike Mallory from OKC ever come up in the search for the #55? He may have bought the car from Dennis or somebody?

We may have discussed this already but couldn't remember if Mike's brother was the one that ran the machine shop and may have had some info.

Warren, I think you are referring to Mike Mowry who owns Mike's Machine Shop in OKC, Hope this helps.

I got this e-mail from Jim Fruend who was trying to help locate the car.

"TRY TO GET A HOLD OF MIKE MALLORY IN OKC,TALKED TO HIM ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO,HE SAYS HE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM DENNIS EVERHART,OR WHO EVER OWNED THE CAR AT THAT TIME,THIS WAS 82 I BELIEVE, MIKE TOLD ME THAT HE REMOVED QUICK CHANGE, ALL HEIMS ENDS ETC FOR USE IN SUPER HE WAS RACING AT THE TIME, SOME ONE CAME BY, BOUGHT THE FRAME , PUT IT IN THE BACK OF A PICK UP, NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN, DIDNT KNOW WHO HE WAS, KINDA SAD THINK IT IS A GONER,,HOPE NOT,SOME ONE HAS TO TRY TO BUILD THIS CAR AGAIN , I HOPE, A 27 T FRAME FROM SPEEDWAY WOULD BE A GOOD START, HAD PARRALEL TORSIONS IN THE REAR ALSO I THINK."

Since I'm not in any position to build of rebuild a race car. I'm just trying to find leads on the car for somone to rebuild. I think Dwane is probably the best person around here.

The chances are not very good the car is around anymore probably, but it may be like the car I seen from the highway on US 75 at Copan, OK. It was pretty much buried in the weeds between other cars, But I could make out it was an old super modified/modifed/jalopy probably from the 60's. A local (Which I can't remember who it was, but is a viewer of the site, or was) person went up there and couldn't believe I could see it from the highway. I have noticed since, it is not there anymore. It was a subject I brought up on the Home Page several years ago in my ramblings. Back when I was updating the site almost everyday. I miss those days!

Hey Warren; Thanks for the compliment, every time I see a old Model A I think of doing that car. Paul Martens has surely bought all the parts by now, one pile at a time. That car at Copan, Ok. I checked and it was not for sale. I later heard it was for sale, Old Chevy sedan ran at Dewey, Ok. Thanks Dwane

I also keep an eye out for this car. As always, should I find it, it goes to Warren.

Got any build pics from this car? Could you email them to me?

I know Paul Martens and Harold Lindsey pretty good and from what I can tell they both would like to let Warren know if they found this car as well.

Did this car have framerails or a tube mainrail?
