Now THAT was amazing! I had reservations at first but being in the seat, dayum I got the itch. Then after the first couple of laps I got the urge to want to drive one myself. This could cause a serious problem.

I want to thank the track announcer (I am terrible remembering names), Ronnie and P-Nut for the opportunity and thanks to Calera school board member John Carter as he was my chauffer for the heat and feature. That was a freakin "HOOT" (in honor of Hooters). Again, I am terrible at names (I am sorry) but also want to thank the flagman for the talk after the races. That was cool too.

For those who don't know, I was in a tornado, a small, inexpensive class of car, and I will race one in a media race in August. Heck maybe before then. I will have more on my experience when I update the front page of my website - hopefully Sunday evening.

And P-Nut or Ronnie, I need an email address for the local paper in Ardmore and surroudning areas so I can send it too Jeff with USMTS so he can send them some stuff to put in the paper.

Thank you again, I had a blast!!!

From their Tornado rules...

1. Any domestic or foreign front wheel drive car is OK. NO all wheel drive vehicles will be allowed. No minimum weight or wheelbase. Cars must remain COMPLETELY stock. NO modifications allowed to engines, suspension, fuel systems or brakes. If rear wheel drive 4 cyl engine only. NO REAR ENGINE VEHICLES.
I especially like the last paragraph in the Tornado rules:
THIS IS A CHEAP, ECONOMICAL CLASS FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY. IF YOU WANT TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR YOU.
Sounds like a fun way for the average joe to go racing with. I think its a good idea.
