I'm just outside of Osky and haven't seen any rain here today but everything is a sloppy mess so I can only imagine how nasty that track is.

As of 6:27p.m. Knoxville time, the sun is out, and has been mostly sunny all day and no rain thus far. Spoke with some people who walked out onto the track today and said it wasn't real muddy.

Damn'd if you do....damn'd if you don't. It has to be real soft over there and I am sure that if they would have attempted to race the track would have been rough at best...and dangerous. There would have been just as many people complaining that they should NOT have ran.
Besides with the cost of fuel and the weather forecast, they did the right thing. Who says a promoter HAS to lose money? It has to be obvious that the show would have only attracted diehards (which aren't enough to pay the bills) and would have resulted in a bunch of torn up racecars.

I just wonder if any of the South Dakota teams could have made it down with the weather they had. Might have been unfair to them to run if they couldn't get out of the state.

As of 9:45p.m. it is dark, and no precipitation in Knoxville.
Speedbump- I've seen the Dunkins work miracles with their trusty sheepsfoot. Rumor has it that the track might be packed hard enough to have a Napcar race on.
BTW- Not arguing the call to postpone the races. Just trying to keep knoxfan18 as well as the other hosers apprised of the current weather conditions in Knoxville.

Anyone that's seen 'em race kville after a rain knows the track is hella fast and hella dangerous. Sucks that I drove for 3 hours for a rain out but better everyones safe than to see a messy night of racing. Plus they might not have been able to get the rigs in and out even if the track was okay. They tend to get tore up coming in and going when everythings wet. We'll try it all again next weekend...
always, chels

Monday morning quarterbacks. You couldn't pay me enough to make that call the way they get chastised either way. My advice to the experts is to go to the main office, fill out an app., and make yourself responsible.
