Williams Grove Speedway
NAME CHANGE FOR NATIONAL OPEN
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- One of the country's richest and most prestigious sprint car events will have a new name this year. The former Williams Grove National Open is now the Morgan Hughes National Open presented by Cleveland Brothers. Hughes had owned the speedway from 1971 until his death on April 12. For the third consecutive year the National Open will pay $50,000 to win. Only the Knoxville Nationals offers a higher payoff to win a sprint car race. It was Hughes who approved raising the winner's share from $30,000 to $50,000 in 2006. "He had the foresight to raise the payoff and keep this race among sprint car racing's major events," said Justin Loh, general manager of Williams Grove Speedway. "Because of that we feel Morgan Hughes should be synonymous with the National Open." Cleveland Brothers had been the long time title sponsor of the National Open, and will graciously move to presenting sponsor so the race can be renamed to honor Morgan Hughes. The National is a two-day event set for September 26-27. The September 27 program will be televised live on SPEED. The Morgan Hughes National Open will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws, which means the top names in sprint car racing will be in competition. That will be the third stop for the Outlaws at the Grove in 2008. Cleveland Brothers will sponsor a two-day World of Outlaws event on Thursday and Friday, May 15-16. The Outlaws will also return for the Cleveland Brothers Summer Nationals on July 18-19. Reserved seat tickets remain for all six World of Outlaws dates and are available at the speedway office. Credit card orders are accepted at 717.697.5000.

Check out the two bars Kathy Hughes says she owns. Google "Tattooed Moms" and "Sugar moms". They look interesting, to say the least.

Or it's just a play on words? She is taking over after a long "reign" by her father.

PBR is not just any beer- so you would expect the history to be a bit unusual, and it is. Pabst was originally called "Select," but people started asking for that "Blue Ribbon" beer in 1882 when we started tying silk ribbons to the bottles. We officially added the words "Blue Ribbon" to the bottle in 1895.
Pabst was the first brewery to put beer in cans back in 1935. This was Blue Ribbon beer but it was called "Export" when sold in the can. Our first cans had a picture of a can opener on the side with instructions on how to open the can of beer, with the can opener.
Today, this classic American brew has been adopted by a whole new generation of PBR drinkers. Currently, PBR is one of the fastest growing domestic beer brands. When you're this good, quality always comes through-PBR ME ASAP!

I'd accept that explanation if Vores' article had used some sort of reference to Morgan Hughes' "reign" - but Brad didn't, so there is no "play" on words......
