What kind of a track is Paris, TX? Is it flat, medium bank, or hi-bank? Do they generally do a good job in preparing the track - adequate watering? Is this a fun track to watch the ASCS sprint cars on?

Oh me - It has been good in the past - but it is under new ownership and I've only seen one ASCS race with the new owner and it was great. It is red clay - medium banking (oh - they say high banking but I say medium banking) but wide enough for sprints. It's a 1/4 mile. I've been there when they worked and worked the track until it was right. I have always enjoyed ASCS there. (Of course, this from the person who recommended Cowtown - but you can always have a bad night). This will be the first time for the National ASCS series to race there, I think. If it isn't rained out I plan on going ($50 in gas for the trip). The stands generally fill up early for a show. These folks really appreciate the few times they get to see sprints. Of course - in the past it has always been on their regular Sat. night show. I like it, in other words.
Directions: from the 286 Loop take US 82 east 7.4 miles to FM 196, then south 3.9 miles to track. 10 miles southeast of Paris, just off Hwy 271 south.

It's out in the middle of farm land on a Farm to Market road. Yep - boonies, but in this area not many trees. At least they don't have to have a curfew - that I know of.

I just followed luvracin and discovered that there is even another new promoter for Paris. Since I only go for ASCS I have no idea how he prepares the track or if he has made any changes. The weather is going to be tricky, too. 30% or 40% chance of showers Fri., as of Tues. At least the phone number seems the same. I have liked the track in the past - for what that is worth. "On the gas" - do you have a bone to pick with them or are you a local or what's the deal? I've never been unhappy that I made the haul there for an ASCS race.
