If you'd like to see some pictures, video clips and more from last night's ASCS sprint series visit to Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, LA; please go to www.darinshort.com/race.html (then scroll down to the 4/19 ASCS link).

It was our first visit to the track, and I can honestly say that it will be a memorable one. For myself, there were two 'firsts' that I'd never seen on-track during the night. (And I'm not saying that's a good thing.)

That being said, the night was a bit fun, awesome, scary and bizarre.

Overall, we had a good time and it was worth the drive there. If you're ever in central LA, you may want to check the place out, as long as you're not in a big rush to get out early. They also had a really strong field of quality modified drivers on hand.

And watching 17 year old Channin Tankersley race a sprint car was just about a carbon copy of his dad's (Ricky Lee) rim-riding style.

He was very impressive and I'm sure that his dad was proud at how calmly and patiently he handled on-track challenges and negotiating with other drivers. We're already looking forward to seeing him race again.

Smile
