Due to some scoring questions I am unable to post all the OFFICIAL results from BMS at this time; however here are the UNOFFICIAL A Feature winners:
Mini Stocks -------74 Donnie Watts II *
Factory Stocks ----1J Johnny Reed, Jr.
E-Mods -----------31C Colby Raidt
Modifieds----------1S Stan Reed, Jr.
2-Barrel Sprint-----55 Johnny Kent
* Danny Drake, Jr. took the checkered flag as the winner but was DQ'd after a protest was filed.
Full results as soon as possible.

I was afraid of that, when I left the track they were still tearing him down. I should have waited until I heard from Debbie to post this. My mistake.

I just received the OFFICIAL word. The official factory stock A Feature winner is Richard Jarvis. Johnny Reed, Jr. was also disqualified.

If you want go to Johnny's house he will show you the head we pulled, there is no port & polish work on the heads, go look and see for yourself, the heads were built by Gerald Brand, so go look and see for yourself ...

Something on the inside casting where the casting line meets, and it is usually a real fine line that was ground and no smoothing done, to releive valve pressure he said that was illegal, that is something Brand does on the heads, and if the truth is known so does other machine shops, we bought the heads from Jerry Morrison who had Brand build them, so who knows Shawn, heck go by Johnny's and look at the head, you can see it for yourself, and Mark told Johnny it does not add performance to the head but hurts it, and can see there is no raw casting removed & the heads are not smooth or ported & polished, go look and see and then let me know what you think ?????, They are stock casting just like they come out of the box from the factory....

Factory Stock rules from BMS's website.
"HEADS:
1. Heads must be stock production type. No SVO, bowtie or Direct
Connection.
2. Chevy & Dodge; Valve size 202 – intake and exhaust
1.60.
3. Ford; Valve size 219 – intake and exhaust 1.68
4. No porting, polishing or grinding of any type.
5. Screw in studs and stud griddles are legal.
6. No aluminum heads."
Later down the rules state: "IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT IN THE RULES…YOU
CAN’T!!!"
I have nothing against Johnny (or the 1J team) in fact I think he is a talented driver and enjoy watching him run but, rules are rules. Looks pretty clear to me why he was DQ'd. Performance advantage or not the rules clearly state no grinding of any type. It may be a trivial offense but personally I'm glad to hear that Brill sticks by his rules.
I like dirt!

ok..now if i understand correctly, mark brill has built 5 factory stock motors for his factory stock class in meeker. is he just mad that a guy in a one car garage can build a better motor than he can build or was there really an attempt to increase the horse power of mr. reed's motor.

On a high note, Springer started his big car career at Meeker, OK Saturday. He did really well, but he did have the best setup car out there.

No Snoopy, no attempt to increase horsepower, and the heads were built by Gerald Brand for another guy who we bought the heads from, Mark said the little grinding inside the valve area where the valves seat was not a performance enhancer but said it hurts them it is to give valve clearance and releive valve pressure, but buying new heads and not seeing under the valves we had no idea cause they are not ported or polished, so lesson learned we have 4 sets of heads for that car so we will put another set on that we did not buy from someone else, and be back out sometime but for the next 2 weeks we will run SFS in the Pro Stock class, put the big tires on and we are ready to go, i can say if we new the heads were like that we would not have run them, but we will be back out soon, untill then we will run some Pro Stock Races

i know marks rules state what they state but i was at the meeting for the factory stock class at his shop and i believe he said that if it helps the life of the motor without bettering the performance it was ok. he had no problem with doing what u could to keep the car together. maybe that rule should be looked at a little more. also did he take all of Johnnys points away for the season or just that nights points?
