I just noticed that Lasoski was prolly pondering if he should race the full outlaw tour, or race locally with guy forbrook. I think he would be crazy to stick with the outlaws. They raced what 6 times? He has made 15,000. And 10,000 of that was from one night. So basically he raced 5 times to make 5,000. How much of that was spent on fuel prices? He can race one weekend at Knoxville and Huset's and easily make that. There are still a ton of outlaw shows he can race in the midwest. What would you guys do if you were in his shoes? I would say heck with the full time outaws, be an real outlaw, and pic and choose. Just my thoughts

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the olden days (1974), I used to go to Knoxville and the hope would be that someone like Opperman would pop in for a show. Didn't happen much, but the hope amd suspense was always there.

Volusia he had some bad luck, was running good but broke down the first two nights and then the final night he didn't break down and won it. So if he didn't break, he would have had top ten finishes for sure. That said... it's still part of racing and u are right.. he has only made 15000. But it easily could have been more. Don't know how Manzanita went, but I-55 he had a strong car but hit the wall and broke something but still managed a top 10. Eldora something was wrong and he pulled in. So it's been a season so far of a few highs and a few lows.
If i was him i would go to Knoxville and Husets and Outlaw shows around here because i'll be at them! I live close to Huset's and i usually go twice a month.. if he was there every week, i would go every week to see him and Dynamite duel it out.

I think it is fairly obvious the bad luck gremlins have it in for him. When you read race recaps and he is talking about running the motors fat so as not to burn one (maybe the only one) down and how he did not make enough to pay the diesel bill for the tow to eldora it should be obvious he needs to pick and choose his races old school style. While money used to not be a issue and he could burn up a couple of motors every week or two that is not the case anymore. He and Forbrook might have to suck up a little pride, pull off the tour and do what they used to do. If one remembers they did pretty well at it. I know Dude can still wheel a sprint car and certainly am not questioning that at all but in this money driven sport, smart money says take what you got, do the best you can with it, even though it might not be on the tour............at least right now. With that said, I hope to see some good runs out of the 5 car next weekend at Huset's and Knoxville. Good luck to Dude and the entire 5 Car Team.

well stated. It's like alot of teams that do good regionally that don't have the big time sponsors, when they race really well and then they decide to go up to the Outlaws.. .in the end it's like it was a bad choice. They work so hard to get up to there and then might spend all their sponsorship money and have to return regionally with hopes of some money somewhere. Yes i like seeing 20 some regulars with the Outlaws but if the teams can't do it, let them go where they can build up there team and attrack sponsors. It's clear that Hannagan runs much better with the All-Stars and Henderson will win a few times at Knoxville and Husets.

Well if he does run the local stuff will he change the car number for his team to 33? I know he had his car as the number 5 so he could still accumulate WoO points.

that alone should buy the fuel for at least 900 miles as well as pay the meals and motel for the crew!

Only if you're in the top 15 in points. And, considering that diesel's up to $4 a gallon....well, that's about 1 tank. And have you ever seen those crew people EAT??

oink,oink, oink lol lol lol
both the crew and the hauler
Wonder when an open trailer and an old uhaul toyota van bodied small truck will become popular. lol
Also wonder when the teams will leave race cars in various locations close to race venues and use passenger cars to go from place to place.

Duane,
Most over the road truckers are spending $4 to go 5 miles nowadays (5 MPG). $500 tow money doesn't go very far when it's 900 miles each way.
Maybe you have "fuzzy math" as our Prez said in teh debates 4 years ago....

OH!! YOU MADE A FUNNY??
Sorry; humor is SOOO hard to convey over the internet.
If they go back to open trailers hauled behind old school buses or '68 Chebby pickups, they're going to HAVE to park extra cars, motors, etc. all over the country.

cars and motors seem to be the cheap part of racing a Nationwide series now,
fuel, motels ect seem to be costing more than the racing.
Those New Your to Calif. hauls a 2 or 3 times a year for a 1 or 2 race deal looks like something only a person high on dope would schedule today.

And that will probably be more like $175,000 this year. How do some of the teams survive out there??

The Featherlite coach he drives around must cost a small fortune to keep washed, waxed, and fuelled. There goes his $500.
BTW, why did him and Roth split?
I assume money is no problem for Dennis and he loves to race.
