ASCS Sprint Car Warriors Invade Golden Triangle Raceway Park
BEAUMONT, Texas - 2008, a new year, a new racing season, and a new name
and facelift to an existing track that has proven to be one of the most
popular in dirt racing, not to mention the ASCS Gulf South Regional
Tour. Formerly Motorama Speedway, the renovated Golden Triangle Raceway
Park will play host to one of the most exciting Sprint Car shows to hit
Southeast Texas in over fifteen years!
The O’Reilly ASCS (American Sprint Car Series) is the nation’s premier
sprint car sanctioning body and host one of the best shows on dirt when
talking about the winged warriors. Top drivers from around the country
have pre-registered and confirmed their spots for the February 29th
Prelude to the Gulf Coast Nationals. Notable drivers such as Gary
Wight, Terry Gray, Jason Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Gary Lee Maier, Don
Droud, Jr., Brandon Berryman, Ray Allen Kulhanek, local favorite Gary
Watson, Skip Wilson, Chris Sweeney, Kevin Ramey, Lane Whittington, and
Travis Rilat, will bring their open wheel animals to the high-banked
haven just off Highway 90 for a night you will not want to miss! These
drivers, hailing from as far away as Tennessee and Florida, have over
271 wins between them and will duke it out with the twenty-plus
regulars on the Gulf South Tour for the $2000 to-win main event. In
addition to the Sprints, the Outlaw Modifieds, Limited Modifieds and
Pure Stocks will be tearing up the 3/8 mile clay oval. The action
starts at 8:00 PM sharp, however come out early and watch the Hot-Lap
sessions at 7:30 and get your seats for what will be the talk of the
office on Monday morning!
The purpose of any event at the new Golden Triangle Raceway Park is to
bring high-speed excitement to everyone in the area. Spectators will be

While its been over 25 years since I lived in Beaumont, the track was once a real dump. Now, 25+ years later, it should be improved! - al least, let's hope so.........
