Didn't John McCain offer to walk Ellen Degeneres down the aisle earlier this week?

technically - Ellen Degenitals asked him if he would walk her down the aisle.
when you stoop to pretty colored graphs with "proxy data" provided by the pobjective staff at the United Nations i can comfortably say that I REST MY CASE.
incidentally - during the same time period there was a huge SPIKE in the rape of teens in third world nations by UN Field Staff. lets hope for your sake they didn't get the two graphs a mixed up - kinda like effective management of the multi billion $ dollar food for oil fraud they perpetrated on the children of Iraq at the expense of taxpayers from contributing nations.

have a nice day - May temps are about 10 degrees below normal for this week and the Grove will see HORSEPOWER CONDITIONS - just another positive side effect of the current global cooling trend.

And California had highs in the 100's last week and a low of 19 degrees this week with some of the wildest weather in between they've seen in a long while...so what's your point...lol?

31,000 scientists reject 'global warming' agenda WorldNetDaily.com ^ | May 19, 2008 | Bob Unruh
Posted on Tuesday, May 20, 20085:13:33 AM by Man50D
More than 31,000 scientists across the United States, including more than 9,000 Ph.D.s in fields including atmospheric science, climatology, Earth science, environment and dozens of other specialties, have signed a petition rejecting "global warming," the assumption that the human production of greenhouse gases is damaging Earth's climate.
"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate," the petition states. "Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."
The Petition Project actually was launched nearly 10 years ago, when the first few thousand signatures were assembled. Then between 1999 and 2007, the list of signatures grew gradually without any special effort or campaign.
But now, a new effort has been conducted because of an "escalation of the claims of 'consensus,' release of the movie 'An Inconvenient Truth' by Mr. Al Gore, and related events," according to officials with the project.
"Mr. Gore's movie, asserting a 'consensus' and 'settled science' in agreement about human-caused global warming, conveyed the claims about human-caused global warming to ordinary movie goers and to public school children, to whom the film was widely distributed. Unfortunately, Mr. Gore's movie contains many very serious incorrect claims which no informed, honest scientist could endorse," said project spokesman and founder Art Robinson

Don't bet on it........ it's a sport and a total waste of fuel to drive to and from that event but also remember that the Nascrap stuff runs on gas... they go after that first and All racing will be hit.......Remember we are being told that there is only 50 years of fuel left.. Why waste in on a sport that is powerd by oil and oil by products....IF these wack jobs can raise the price of fuel by anywhere from 1.50 to 5.00 to save the polar bear just to make sure that our coke is cold they will do anything...

The weather here in AZ is completely whacked out. Record setting temperatures one day and 20, 30 degree and more drop in temperatures in just a few days. Colorado is also getting some very unusual fluctuations in temperature's as well.
If you right wing guys keep your mouths flapping like they have been the last few days, I'm sure the hot air and warm Sh++ will warm you up soon.

Thanks for making point Dave.
Some racing fans just are too lazy/dumb to realize that THEY will cause the demise of our sport through their choice of poor people to run our Congress.
When a person believes the cow turds spewed by cows like Gore himself, what do we expect?
When a person is caught in lies over and over again, how can a person jump on their band wagon when it comes to such an ignorant issue such as another global warming period, similar to hundreds of them occuring before man occupied the planet.

Jupiter's Three Red Spots Credit NASA, ESA, M. Wong, I. de Pater (UC Berkeley), et al.
Explanation: For about 300 years Jupiter's banded atmosphere has shown a remarkable feature to telescopic viewers, a large swirling storm system known as The Great Red Spot. In 2006, another red storm system appeared, actually seen to form as smaller whitish oval-shaped storms merged and then developed the curious reddish hue. Now, Jupiter has a third red spot, again produced from a smaller whitish storm. All three are seen in this image made from data recorded on May 9 and 10 with the Hubble Space Telescope's Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2. The spots extend above the surrounding clouds and their red color may be due to deeper material dredged up by the storms and exposed to ultraviolet light, but the exact chemical process is still unknown. For scale, the Great Red Spot has almost twice the diameter of planet Earth, making both new spots less than one Earth-diameter across. The newest red spot is on the far left (west), along the same band of clouds as the Great Red Spot and is drifting toward it. If the motion continues, the new spot will encounter the much larger storm system in August. Jupiter's recent outbreak of red spots is likely related to large scale climate change as the gas giant planet is getting warmer near the equator.

Top court overturns dead fly-in-water damage claim
AP
OTTAWA (AP) _ A man who claimed that he became depressed, anxious and phobic after finding a a dead fly in a bottle of water will no longer get the judgment he won against a bottling company, Canada's top court ruled Thursday.
Martin Mustapha will have to shell out thousands in court costs, instead of collecting the more than $345,000 he won in an Ontario court three years ago.
The Supreme Court of Canada agreed in a 9-0 judgment that Mustapha suffered real psychological harm, but Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin said his reaction was so "unusual or extreme" that bottling company Culligan of Canada Ltd., should not have to pay compensation.
McLachlin said the legal test for damages is whether a person of "ordinary fortitude" would suffer psychological harm. In Mustapha's case, she concluded, the reaction was so unique that Culligan could not reasonably have foreseen the consequences and should not be held liable.
Mustapha insisted that he had been treated unfairly and said finding the dead fly in an unopened bottle of water in 2001 devastated him. He became obsessed with thoughts of dead flies, could not sleep and was constantly on edge — to the point that his business and even his sex life suffered.
"I'm just the type of person that is very clean and cautious about the health and well-being of myself and my family," Mustapha said.
He was diagnosed by several doctors as suffering from severe depression, anxiety and phobias.

Blame senators, not oil execs Denver Post ^ | 5/22/2008 | David Harsanyi
Posted on Friday, May 23, 2008 2:38:17 PM by markomalley
Have you seen the television spots produced by oil companies? If so, you might be under the impression they were in the business of selling sunflowers and good vibes rather than energy.
In general, oil executives have done a horrid job of defending their industry, opening themselves up to fact-deprived populist attacks that ignore the complexities of the energy mess.
This week's sham of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing saw Big Oil executives from ExxonMobil, Chevron and three other companies take the stand. With quivering voices, they explained basic economic principles to Senate demagogues who, incidentally, bear far more responsibility for high prices than the execs themselves.
The lead demagogue, Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, leveled numerous preposterous charges. He claimed that there was a "disconnect" between supply and demand and the gasoline prices that consumers are wrestling with at the pump.
Leahy, one hopes, knows that oil companies have little to do with the price of oil per barrel. He knows full well that they can't control OPEC production or Hugo Chavez or the dramatic increase in oil demand by China, India and other developing nations. So in this case, the only "disconnect" is between facts and Sen. Leahy.
Most of the senators moaned about "profits" — a topic that has nothing to do with the fundamental problems we face. And though $40 billion in profit sounds massive to us, in the context of the entire fossil fuel industry, it's far less magnificent.
Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter asked "why profits have gone up so high when the consumer is suffering so much." Good question. Perhaps Specter can also ask why government seizes more in profit per gallon of gas than the wicked oil companies. Then, he might want to discuss why Congress continues to obstruct the search for more energy and the import of smart energy.
Start with ethanol (the good kind): The massive farm bill — supported by every senator on the Judiciary Committee — continues the policy of applying high tariffs on Brazilian sugar-based ethanol to protect American companies. Instead of opening this market, Congress is continuing mandates and subsidies for corn-based ethanol (the bad kind). That's a price consumers pay whether they want to or not.
Talk about nuclear energy: The cleanest viable large-scale energy source available to us already provides around 20 percent of our electricity. Congress has done little to promote more use. Leahy's state of Vermont enjoys this clean and relatively cheap energy. Why not the rest of us?
Talk about exploration: Any mention of drilling in the tundra of Alaska incites apoplectic reactions. Yet a sliver of land in Alaska's 19.6 million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge could yield 10 billion barrels of oil. It wouldn't dramatically affect prices in the short term, but the long-term benefits are clear and numerous.
Talk about refineries: Can we get a new one? Please? It's been 35 years.
So what has Congress come up with instead? It creates unrealistic expectations about renewable energies (and some have great futures) and advocates for punitive "windfall profit" taxes to diverge more money from private industry to centralized government.
How any of this helps consumers or alleviates foreign energy reliance is a mystery.
"Stop ripping off the American people. Ride your bike to work, everybody," yelled a protester from the far-left group Code Pink at oil executives. (She, undoubtedly, had just pedaled her 10-speed to Washington from Fantasia.)
Riding bikes out of necessity — as folks in Third World countries do — is exactly what we can look forward to if energy policy continues to appease the Code Pink crowd rather than help the American people.

let me see...what could possibly be warming Earth, Mars and Jupiter at the same time?
i guess you dont follow news that is not sent out by th UN?
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=65165
export liberal nutjobs to Jupiter now...the crisis is several million times worse than Earth.
i'm thinking GM should stop selling SUVs on Jupiter before they get hauled into court there by your buddy Gore?
cubis - warning...this story has ACTUAL images of changing planets...not just color illustrations of an ice surveyor's dream.
No kidding! Climate change spreads to Jupiter, Mars Turbulent storms leaving spots on big planet, ice caps retreating on red planet

 Jupiter |
Does Al Gore know about this?
While the former vice president is leading the charge for drastically changing the way humans do business in a bid to avert catastrophic, man-made global warming, scientists reported today there is noticeable climate change taking place on Jupiter, too.
The news follows reports as far back as three years ago that ice caps on Mars are also retreating much as some of the ice in the Earth's Arctic circle.
There's one striking difference between Earth and the other two planets, however. Neither Jupiter or Mars has any people – and no artificial activity creating so-called "greenhouse gases" like carbon dioxide.
Increased turbulence and storms first observed on Jupiter more than two years ago are still raging, according to astronomers from the University of California, Berkeley, and the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii, who snapped high-resolution pictures of the planet earlier this month.
Captured with NASA's Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the 10-meter Keck II telescope, this so-called "major upheaval" on Jupiter involves stunning changes in the planet's atmosphere, said lead astronomer Imke de Pater, professor of astronomy at UC Berkeley.
(Story continues below)

The new images, the first since Jupiter emerged from its passage behind the Sun, may show that Jupiter indeed is undergoing a major climate change, as predicted four years ago.
"One of the most notable changes we observe in both the Hubble and Keck images is the change from a rather bland, quiescent band surrounding the Great Red Spot just over a year ago to one that is incredibly turbulent at both sides of the spot," de Pater said. "During all previous HST observations and spacecraft encounters, starting with Voyager in 1979, such turbulence was seen only on the west or left side of the spot."
 Jupiter's spots |
According to Philip S. Marcus, a professor of fluid dynamics at UC Berkeley, analysis of the Hubble and Keck images may support his 2004 conjecture that Jupiter is in the midst of global climate change that will alter temperatures by as much as 10 degrees Celsius, getting warmer near the equator and cooler near the south pole. He predicted that large changes would start in the southern hemisphere around 2006, causing the jet streams to become unstable and spawn new vortices.
"The appearance of the planet's cloud system from just north of the equator down to 34 degrees south latitude keeps surprising us with changes and, in particular, with new cloud features that haven't been previously observed," Marcus said. "Whether or not Jupiter's climate has changed due to a predicted warming, the cloud activity over the last two and a half years shows dramatically that something unusual has happened."
Mars, too, is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, according to scientists.
Scientists from NASA say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period.
Since there is no known life on Mars it suggests rapid changes in planetary climates could be natural phenomena.
The Mars Phoenix probe is scheduled to touch down on the red planet around 7:53 Eastern Time Sunday. If all goes well, it will land near the red planet's north pole. There, it will sample the ice that lies just beneath the surface. On-board instruments will analyze the ice and will look for signs of life.
"By landing on the northern plains, we're looking at active processes that are taking place today," says Peter Smith, the scientist in charge of the operation. "And these active processes have to do with the expansion and contraction of that ice. We're going to see climate change written into the soils."
